Hunting Tuna and Yellowtail on Grande Sportfishing October 5th - 6th 2024

Booked a Overnight trip on the Producer out of H&M Landing that was picked up by the Grande . Was totally stoked to do the trip since ive only ever been on Full day Grande trips . I went down Solo this trip and arrived early . I was lucky enough to know 3 other Anglers on the boat and met a few new fishing buddies as well. We chased Dolphins , Glassed for Paty's all day , along with (4) trollers in the water . We never actually saw any fish boil the entire day . Captain was marking fish here and there and we'd stop and flyline baits , drop jigs , and even some guys throwing irons . We ended the day heading back to the barn with zero fish . Some of the anglers on the boat had bad attitudes at the end and asked why the captain didnt rock fish . These gentlemen expected way more then they should have . One In Particular was a child about the whole thing , yelling out childish rants etc. If you put money in a slot machine and expect to be paid back your in a dream world . Fishing is fishing and sometimes you dont have a good day . Although the worst day fishing is better then the best day at work . I've been skunked on a 9-month planned 2.5 day trip (windy with high rolling waves) . . and I've caught limits many times on full day and overnight trips. Fishing is fishing. I'm just be happy to be out there instead of stressed at work.

@ken.cade5 100% correct , Sh#t happens . In all my years fishing this is only the 2nd time for me . And as you said im happy with just being out there on the water . Good morning @MyOutdoorActivity I have yet to hook up with a yellowtail on one . I have hooked up a Bluefin Tuna which was short lived fish spit the hook . For the price the Piscifun Reels are pretty awesome . Thank you for watching , hope to see you out there sometime . 🐟🎣

wow dragon flies out there, I was on el dorado last friday and we saw an owl, it landed on the boat for a while , the crew said that we were about 30 from any land

Id rather chase tuna then catch rock fish any day. I actually got lucky this past weekend and got a bluefin. Tge bite just hasnt been great this year. Thats how it goes.

Well i would of been upset too!! You pay all that money to go catch some good big fish and not one fish was caught?? NOT GOOD and bad for that captain for not putting you on the fish! Just my opinion, some people save up for a trip like that and that sucks when you don't even catch a thing!!

@davidgallego-n7q - Your comment gives me a good feeling that you dont fish much . It does suck not to catch fish , And i totally understand its alot for most people to shell out , but when fish dont bite , you cant stick your head in the water and tell them too. Ive been fishing since about age 10 , Used to be dropped off at 4am at the oceanside harbor for full day oceanside 95 or electra trips . I know that not all boats catch fish every time they go out . @jameswilliams5236 - Yes t has been a rough season all around . Normally you can jump on the day boats and kill Tuna at the grouds only 35 miles out . But this year its been slow for sure .
