Id rather chase tuna then catch rock fish any day. I actually got lucky this past weekend and got a bluefin. Tge bite just hasnt been great this year. Thats how it goes.

Well i would of been upset too!! You pay all that money to go catch some good big fish and not one fish was caught?? NOT GOOD and bad for that captain for not putting you on the fish! Just my opinion, some people save up for a trip like that and that sucks when you don't even catch a thing!!

@davidgallego-n7q - Your comment gives me a good feeling that you dont fish much . It does suck not to catch fish , And i totally understand its alot for most people to shell out , but when fish dont bite , you cant stick your head in the water and tell them too. Ive been fishing since about age 10 , Used to be dropped off at 4am at the oceanside harbor for full day oceanside 95 or electra trips . I know that not all boats catch fish every time they go out . Thank you for watching , and i hope your fish gods fix you up every trip , so you dont have to feel ripped off. 🤙

I've been skunked on a 9-month planned 2.5 day trip (windy with high rolling waves) . . and I've caught limits many times on full day and overnight trips. Fishing is fishing. I'm just be happy to be out there instead of stressed at work.

@ken.cade5 100% correct , Sh#t happens . In all my years fishing this is only the 2nd time for me . And as you said im happy with just being out there on the water . @jameswilliams5236 - Yes t has been a rough season all around . Normally you can jump on the day boats and kill Tuna at the grouds only 35 miles out . But this year its been slow for sure . wow dragon flies out there, I was on el dorado last friday and we saw an owl, it landed on the boat for a while , the crew said that we were about 30 from any land

@timmiller3133 Yes this charter did it right, Actually almost all of the boats I fish do this same type of deal. When people aren't catching the crew is trying their best to hook up for them. I myself have handed off my rod to people that are fishless. Thank you very much for watching.

@patricksalazar3851 Captain and crew did their job and put us on fish. Pretty much everyone took home a fish. They flew a kite all day and filled in the people that didn't catch, With kite fish. It was my first time on this boat and they seemed pretty good. Thank you for watching.🎣🐟

I use a long 50-100’ topshot of mono, then 3-4’ of fluoro when flylining bait. Dramatically improved my results.

@MC-pe8mx I've tried the mono top shot , with not great results , normally for me the mono always trys to jump loose on the spool adding to tangles or nesting . When I went to braid the floro all my issues got better. This 2 speed shimano has free braid installed on it and it's very stiff and doesn't relax , causing it to kinda do the same jumping off the spool. I was on this trip with you. It was good fishing with you again and although this was not your day, you still make the trips enjoyable. I was throwing surface irons at the front of the boat using my Stellas but for sure the majority of the fish were caught using bait. There was a group of us who lucked out and were able to catch them on the irons however, we certainly had to work for them!

@markstart9051 thank you , I try to sling them out far as possible most the time .I learned that fishing catalina island on the 22nd street boats. Funny thing my largest BF was a bait dropped right off the side of the boat . 🤙

Don’t hesitate to use a yoyo iron when you’re anchored or a sniper on the drift. Been limiting out or close to on my last 3 trips to the Coronados this way and never touched bait. Good luck!

@FirstLast-hz1mp I actually was throwing a surface iron when the bait ran out , also a Colt Sniper. I've only had luck with Bonita on jigs so far. This trip there was quite a few jig fish for sure , but majority on bait. Thank you for watching and I appreciate the tips. Have a killer day .

@@ArthurPereira1974 yoyo jigs were the ticket on my last two trips to the coronados 2 weeks ago. Bait was getting bit but as soon as we rolled up they would sink out and a heavy jig on the bottom would get smashed.
