This really could have been the other way around. But to be honest, if it weren't for Deku getting OFA, Bakugou would have never become such a great hero, person, and friend. His dreams were truly shattered, and because of that he became the best version of himself. Truly inspiring.

But yeah like you said if it wasn’t for Deku having OFA he wouldn’t be who he is at the moment. I honestly applaud him for trying to keep up even though Deku has multiple quirks. That would probably be a motivation killer for most.

I think many of you misunderstood a small part of this, bakugo has always observed his enemies. We see this many times, Izuku literally learns this from him... Where Bakugo becomes a true hero, is that the build up of protecting others has risen versus winning a fight. Here he's fighting with a pure desire to protect and save. His awakening was based on if he can keep fighting but if he could fight for others.

Whether you like the show or not you have to admit Bakugo's character development is some of the best we have ever seen. How he and Deku are two sides of the same coin, both having their own beliefs of what it means to be #1, saving everyone with a smile or to always win, yet both trying to achieve the same thing, truly a great parallel between characters. It allows them to have this uncanny similarity yet be vastly different at the same time. The change from loathing one another to a shared mutual respect and admiration of the others abilities. Each pushing the other just from seeing how much the other is growing, both giving everything they have to become #1, to achieve their dream, to become the symbol. The symbol that brings forth hope, courage, and inspiration. The symbol of what it means to be a hero.
