This is one of those wacky storms science just can't predict very well - either intensity, timing or tracking.

From my view, I feel like there moderate high confidence in track and timing. I don’t see a scenario, as of now, how it’s not the Texas coast. Weather goes down hill fast early Monday. The intensity is a real question. All “logic” would say it just doesn’t have enough time to from what we see now to anything but a low end hurricane. But, recent history says that rapid deepening before landfall is occurring more frequently. Unfortunately, that’s just one of those things you have to monitor in real time as it approaches the coast. -Rusty

Cat 3 - going straight to Galveston/Houston. I live in North Galveston County - Kemah. I knew this storm was going to be bigger coming in than predicted and was coming here to Galveston a few days ago. I prepared my house the best I could and am now in Washington State with family until it's over and I have to go back and clean up what's left.

No rain where I am in Jamaica. We had quite a bit of rain yesterday into the wee hours of this morning.

NWS planning for Cat 2. Heavy rain will exacerbate storm surge causing inlets and rivers on the coast to rise.

We're in Lake Jackson, just off the Coast South of Houston.. On the dirty side right next to the eye. We are hunkered down. Our News is saying, it may be a Cat 2 hits us up here. I'll be posting pics on my Instagram, (same name)
