i study plant biology and im doing a course on climate change and future predictions rn.. and we had a meteorologist come in and give a talk about the complex models they use to predict weather and it’s still largely very difficult to predict extreme weather events because there isn’t usually just one direct cause. but anyways the reason for cold air from a hurricane is probably related to the increase of arctic blasts that get trapped in the wind cycle as a result of melting polar ice caps. even in Australia, we get arctic blasts. the way the wind travels across the ocean has a bunch of different variables
