Thanks for the update… I’m doing updates as well but you are a little ahead of us. Best of luck with this mess. Incidentally, you could leave the fenders where they were because they keep the boat from bumping into the coffee table in the living room …

I was thinking the water was getting high because even the lake behind my house is higher than usual. We have a weir that's able to control the water from the canals that come in the lake. Thanks for the update.

After Andrew, the lines on boats often settled on the wrong sides of the pilings. I saw boats that were actually lifted above the water on one side because the lines were caught. You want your lines as long as humanly possible. If you can run them to other properties, it will help.

@@AdventuresofHappyOurs you also want long bow and stern lines if possible.

Hi Captain. I don't see any lines to the seawall. Ian took my neighbors boat with the dock and pilings still attached a quater mile away down our canal. Probably too late to tell you now, but next time.

Starts to seem like a recurring pattern with Cape Coral surge flooding. Is this normal? This hurricane is hundreds of miles away and is flooding this bad?
@AdventuresofHappyOursАй бұрын
Shouldn’t be nearly as bad as before. North Florida is in for a whollop.
@mr.e7022Ай бұрын
Ah hurricanes, been thru 3 of them. Hurricanes are 23 hours of boredom with 15 minutes of sheer terror. Stay hydrated. And you might want to shut the power off at the dock before those outlets go under salt water.

Might be a good time to secure the power to the power posts. Don't need a fire from a shorted wire
Walking in the water with it plugged in is very Darwin Award

You elected to live on the water , you know the risks, Your problem. We who live not on water should not have to pay to help for people that do.

Ok, let's not help anyone living in an area with tornados, earthquakes, snowstorms, landslides as well. Screw 'em. They knew the risks.
