Nicole, I am so glad you posted and that you and the pets are safe and Brandon is on his way home. I could not believe the destruction caused by Helene in Georgia and the Carolinas. I have been to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure many times visiting the Spartanburg area. It is so heart wrenching. Thanks for posting the gofundme link. Stay safe while you are helping your community.

Glad you have come through ok and sad for your friend. We have similar storms in Australia known as tropical cyclones. Take care and recovery is a long term thing in this type of disaster event.

yeah and it rained all day long the day before, so once the hurricane arrived we were already 30+ inches in some areas. it was so devastating to our area, were not meant for this type of weather!

it's really cool to see everyone pull together! we have another friend here at the house now, he evacuated from Black Mountain this morning. We head to Shelby tomorrow to deal with the fallen trees and help another friend move out of his house that was crushed. it's just everywhere you look.

@SewGnar del rio and newport got hit hard. We were outta power for few days. Roads and vehicles are lost. 12 deaths that I know of.

@@tamihuggins8208 I fear that the death toll will continue to climb. Those flash floods that took out entire houses are so heartbreaking. I cannot imagine losing EVERYTHING in a split second. And these people out here making comments like "prepare better" are making me so irate.

@@SewGnar affected I don't know but your going to be detected by looters sooner or later so you better sleep with one eye open and in shifts keep the safety off and then you can be around and say the words live and learn.
