@@svdelos I think it was saved by being the in the deepest water, quite possibly submerged under waves, thereby avoiding the worst damage. This might be a learning lesson for the rebuild... To heavily reinforce the outside most anchor points, and make a floating dock(s) that can be pulled in ashore, or moved out into deeper water to float out the storm where the waves aren't breaking, just rising and falling. Not sure if anyone makes docks that can be intentionally flooded, but might be a good alternative to pulling up on shore.

Mike Love dude it's not a dock it to protect the harbour. Floating, or mobile wouldn't work in this situation.

I hate to see those hurricanes do all that damage. Unfortunately i know all to well. Im 50 years old and i live in southeast texas and i have been thru about 5 major hurricanes in my life. Alicia in 1983 was the first one and the worst one for us was harvey. I live about 30 miles northeast of houston and i know first hand that it aint always wind that creates havoc. High water damage is jjst as bad because yoj cant get away from it. God bless all those folks in the azores and you guys too. Be safe and keep the videos coming. Your videos of sailing are the only ones i watch. Ive been watching for about 3 years

Sv delos is the oldest sailing channel that I know of but certainly not the only sailing related channel. SAIL LIFE is a great channel and he's NEVER sailing but rather always working on his boat getting ready. Odd Life Crafting is another one that concentrates on the refit. Some channels like sv Basik have dried up now that the refit has been mostly done and they are just day sailing on a cat. My point is show the work getting ready too! There are lots of folks who can relate and that is what draws people in. 😁

I hear you, about the only thing I won't have documented is when I looked at the boat and when I went back to buy her. Electronics install and bottom paint and top polish I will document. I do watch many sailing channels as my family has deep roots in maritime history stretching from the east cost to where I live. Both on my mothers and fathers sides. And my parents got me into everything from boating to ships as a young child. Now almost 40 years since my first boat ride boating is my true passion. My first sailboat was a gift from a friend and I still have it along with my power boats and my larger sailboat. I love sailing because of the considerable less environmental impact over power boats. I'll include family history in my documentation also so hopefully many people will find it interesting. Thank you for your encouragement it helps the drive to share my own adventures!
