Of note it's not the Woodpecker that destroys the tree it's the insects it's after that do the real damage. The Woodpecker actually extends the time that tree's live after being infested.
@BrianStevens-y6h2 ай бұрын
The reason so many people have that belief is due to observation bias, they see the damage the bird does but the real damage from the insects is being hidden under the bark and even to the tree's heart in some cases.

That "evac storm fatigue" is a real thing. We have that situation happen here in Butte County, CA @ Fire. It's cumulative here since 2017. You might have to gently lovingly kick some booty to get people out. Folks are exhausted, nothing left in the tank, brain fried.

Just started watching your channel. I can't even tell you how many storms I've been in.So many I don't even remember names anymore. I've lived from south Dade county to St Cloud and Ocklawaha. I grew up in Martin county and now live in Levy county. If you need to get out. You get out. If you have a safe place to go you go. Many people don't feel like they have a choice. My husband and I do live in a mobile home. But we have a nice barn that has an inside built room that we call our safe room, also known as my craft room. And we have gone there for cat 3s. And felt very safe. We don't have large trees around our home and we don't flood. When we bought our place I asked a long time neighbor about that and he told us he had never seen it flood there. Another reason why we would never leave is our animals. Inside and out, too many to count. I have friends and family down around St. Lucie County and have been very worried about all of them. Some of the tornadoes that hit was very close to them. Flood waters will go down. Some of that is from trash that has built up in the drains. And then again I say what do you expect when you fill the swamp with dirt to build houses and buildings. Where do you think the water is going to go? When you change the land and waterways. It all has to go somewhere . 🌅🐚🦩

I’m repenting and making myself accountable to research and vet everything. I will tell you this, God is on the scene, quite literally, and the hands and feet of Christ will need to continue the torch for some time to come. I have my Fall break week this week from Grad school & originally headed to….. Hendersonville, Asheville, and Chimney Rock. Now, I’m emailing with Samaritans Purse to offer to go and relieve someone bring some fresh energy,prayers, and vigilant mind. God bless you all!

Most storm related deaths do happen after, don’t just come out and move around like you normally do. There are downed power lines, holes may have opened up in the road/sidewalk that you can’t see because of the flood water or debris, sharp objects like broken furniture or glass, oil slicking the roads and causing you to lose control even after the waters have receded-all kinds of things can happen. Very sad for your neighbour who survived the actual storm only to drive into a tree and be killed.

I am not familiar with hurricanes, why does water rise after the storms are over? Where is the water coming from?
@AuntLouella2 ай бұрын
It's still raining in some counties and there was so much rainfall, the water level hasn't fallen to pre flood levels yet.
@Adventureswithbecky2 ай бұрын
@@shirleyjessome5047 it is the run off from a very high amount of rain
@Sassysouthrnbelle2 ай бұрын
@@shirleyjessome5047 yes rainfall plus storm surge. When these massive hurricanes and tornadoes make landfall they push an enormous amount of water from the ocean on land. The ground can only hold so much, so the surge makes its way to the next body of water & deposits. That causes an already full lake or river to flood, so more water pushes further inland and the cycle repeats itself until all the water has a place to go and recedes. Many of our waterways are connected and already full from the last hurricane. If we get another storm soon I don’t know what we will do except evacuate the state. This is an unprecedented time for Florida. Please pray for our people and land.

So does the hurricanes drop the water on the other side of it after it picks it up and then the rain also contributes the rising again too? I'm thinking it does with the bigger hurricane's....that's partly why it floods again....
