Jack was just superb, even though he was so tired. V, you looked great trying on all of your clothes. My favorite was the white sweater with the black pipping detail. I have about a dozen orchids and they bloom every year. You need to cut the brown sticks off and give them orchid food. They bloom when it’s cooler and blooms probably last for 3 or 4 months.

Glad you didn’t have any damage. Lived in cyclone areas for 16yrs. It was very much expected of everyone to clear all loose items from the yard, take down lights and everyone had cyclone shutters on their windows. No one had a basement.

You should be ok trimming that type of hydrangea (looks like limelight?) as they bloom on new wood but once they are that color, you don't need water. In fact, they don't do well in water once they change color. It is the broad leaf type that you really shouldn't trim, so enjoy!

The HM stuff looks fab! I must say I feel the Halloween creep ....putting up decor and stuff so early takes away from the night of Halloween...its now the month of Halloween....when I was a kid we just did everything the day of and it made it much more fun and special imho. Those little squashes are called Honeynut Squash. They are amazing roasted and the skin is edible once roasted!!!! Alison Roman has a great recipe where you create a brown butter sauce while they are roasting and then chopped dates and nuts are added. It is divine and people that I have served them too have fallen in love with the recipe. I'm sorry about the sleepless night you guys had! It is crazy how the weather has been changing... and to think that some people refuse to realize that climate change is real!!! (kinda silly when you think of all the changes this planet has gone through since the 'ice age' lol... obvious changes that are recorded). Stay safe while this new storm is coming in out there.
