Pops bought a 5.7 Hemi 2500 brand new in late 2002. One of the first built. Still running strong. All that has been done to the engine is exhaust manifold gaskets and hardware.

Every single V8 from the has lifter failures it’s not exclusive to one truck Ram, GMC and Chevy idk about Ford but I know they use that Ecoboost and that engine as a whole is just bad with the right maintenance on those V8s you will avoid lifter failures

It’s amazing that people are impressed by what a turbo does. Give me old reliable any day over that Stelantis crap. I use my truck, LIKE A TRUCK, not like a race car. Heck, just put a turbo on the hemi and you’ll absolutely destroy a hurricane with half the boost.

There trying to add fuel economy without sacrificing powered, hence the duel turbo. I enjoyed my F150 ecoboost had great power and fuel economy was great. I just upgraded to this dodge because it no longer costumes fuel like a Mexican consune beer

Smaller motors with turbos in a truck is gonna equal a lot of wear and tear on a lot of parts. Ask any Ford Tech about it.

So you have to put twin turbos on a 6 cylinder for it to be able to handle what this truck was designed to do (not that all ppl work in these trucks or hauling horses all the time) WHERE AS the hemi is just fine as it is as a V8. Wait till you have to maintenance both turbos. I dont know any truck today that needs MORE POWER?!?!

Talking to a sales guy as I type. I told him I like the 2024 with the HEMI. He’s pushing me hard on the 2025 with the Hurricane, saying, “the new Hurricane is the future. It blows away the HEMI. The HEMI is old technology.” I also noticed the MSRP for a 2025 Hurricane is about 10-12k more. 🧐

My dad just bought a Flame Red 2025 Ram 1500 Big Horn Night Edition. It's ridiculously fast for a 6 cylinder truck and it's got lots of goodies. Head up display, panoramic sunroof, heated seats & wheel, adaptive cruise control. Strange thing is that it still has a manual passenger seat at $66K MSRP.

I like straight 6’s, grew up runnin fords 300’s in work trucks they’re dependable, last forever. But turbos do not! Not a fan of all the smaller motors with turbos at all. I’ve owned several hemi trucks in 1/2 ton 2 & 4wd and all got over 20 mpg, the 2wds got 27ish hwy consistently. Give me the v8’s. And don’t brag about how much these little motors put out. You want a turbo, Then put one on a v8 then talk numbers.
