I don't know why French cinema is still seen as "intellectual" abroad... I mean, yes, it's true for Godard or some films of the Nouvelle Vague era, and it was 50 years ago. Take a look at 2016's Camping 3 and try to find an ounce of intellectuality (or intelligence) in it
