Hey Al and Gina. We're growing asparagus, radishes, 3 kinds of onions, carrots, tomatoes, spinach, lettuce, arugula, beets, beans, peas, herbs, hot and sweet peppers, cucumbers, squash, pumpkins, as well as blueberries, strawberries, figs, raspberries, apple's, plums and cherries. We also start everything from seeds and just enjoy getting our hands dirty as we grow what we enjoy eating. Might try meat birds in the future as we've enjoyed watching you guys raising your own food too. Keep up the good work!! Hi Olivia.

I placed an order to Hoover's for 15 Buff Orphingtons. We received 16. They shipped on April 21at and we were not suppose to receive them until April 24th. We received them 1 day early on April 23rd. Our post office called me and woke me up at 7:15 AM. I was really proud. They are 2 weeks old today and they have tripled in size. They still scurry about in the 4X4 Broder box I built from your video when I open the top but they are accustomed to my wife's voice and they just stand still. We keep them fed and watered and try to keep them as warm as possible.

Those chicks of yours are packed up pretty tight. I suspect your brooder might be running cold - it may be worth throwing a couple thermometers in there to see where things are running.. It may help to add another lamp or you may find that a brooder plate works better for the higher ceilings in your current setup. Another thought since your weather runs so lousy cold in spring is to build a ohio brooder.

As we are both physically disabled and seniors as well, all I could get at the nursery were a few herbs and a couple of flowers. Put them in my little flower bed and they are doing well so far. It was my first outing in almost two months. I was in pain all night but happy. They were beautiful this morning when I checked on them. Creeping rosemary, flowering garlic chives, verbena, lantana, tricolor sage, one small sweet basil 🌿 and a flower called Pentas with which I am not familiar. I always have to try something new. Should have, color, texture, humming birds and butterflies soon. Looking forward to my very small little happy outside place in full bloom. Be well safe.

I always grow various tomato varieties. I put about 1 TBSP epsom salt (magnesium) in hole to prevent end rot. And peppers. I also like to grow some okra plants. They go good chopped up in some foods, like fried rice. Last year I planted some stinging nettle seeds. The boiled leaves are supposed to make highly nutritious tea. Also, trying to expand an area of perennial herbs. So far, I’ve only got chives and sage to survive the winter. And Strawberries, can’t forget the strawberries. Have to protect the plants from the deer who like to eat my plants.

At my USPS office they have 2 front counter gals. One doing packages one doing one on ones. The package girl had a wall of carts behind them full from incoming. A Ebay seller shows up every day with little packages and fills about 8 of those plastic bins. I asked where her help was and she said they weren't getting any. She was so sweet and nice, not bothered at all. I had a week off and ended up going 2x. Same situation both times. I was impressed at their hard work and happy attitude. Sorry about your birds. Another fine episode in your quest to build a greenhouse. Well done! It is Autumn in Aussie right now and time to plant our winter veggies. I have planted cabbage, Brussel sprouts, broccoli, spinach, kale and a crop of snow peas. Sadly, the snow peas never make it to the table as I eat them off the vine. Because my back garden is all ornamental, I have my veggie garden in the front garden. The neighbours love it as they can help themselves to anything they want.

Hi, we are also growing something more this spring. We have a really big garden, so some potatoes under partially composted straw, and some fresh on top. See how it goes. Al, Gina, High 5 to Gina for the ladder work. We are growing directly into the ground in our garden polytunnel for the first time this year. Ripped the membrane up this weekend, 4.5m x 2m. Been down for 4 years.High 5 to my wife Alison for going to Harbro farm supply and lifting the 90ltr bags of compost we need to freshen the soil. I can't go as I'm isolated! The tunnel will have, kale, broccoli, carrots, parsnips and onions, marigolds and sweet peas, nicotiana, basil, lettuce and courgettes. Oh! A pumpkin. Found a pumpkin seed wedged in the corner of the kitchen floor! Planted it, obviously😁. Well, it's up. So this year is its year🌱🌱🌱. The tunnel will be full. Fencing it off from the chickens who have the rest of the garden to roam. Looking forward to seeing what grows. You've inspired me to get up and going. Nice work all around. Regards Stephen.

I have several blackberry plants to go in there. As well as a dozen black raspberry plants in ground. I finally have gotten them all properly pruned. Some flowers for the honeybees and my eyes. Al , I see that you have grown some pot holes in the cattle lane that need to be fixed. I would not have thought that you would have that much traffic there.

Gina, just a few thoughts. When you’re climbing a ladder, don’t hug it, keep you back straighter. This helps going up with not hitting your knees as you climb. Coming down same thing, it’s easier to check your feet for the rungs. Also, you climb with your left leg only, alternate feet on each rung like going up stairs. Once or twice doesn’t hurt but do that for a long time and that leg will get tired and may cramp up. Make sure your instep is on the rungs too, don’t climb on your toes, you will misstep and slip. 46 years teaching novices to climb a ladder, you tend to notice these things but good on you, you go up in spite of not liking it.

Last years onions just ran out a couple weeks ago so I'm increasing that crop and I am doing 4x's the potatoes. We polished those off long ago. Trying some longer storing squash and the celeriac as opposed to celery (planting that too) because it stores for a long time. Hope it pans out!👍🏻 I will freeze, can, and dehydrate also but I'm experimenting with getting a longer fresh selection.

Your green house is coming along. I watched a video about how they center and slide the sheeting into place on a large building! It was very interesting to see only 2 men cover a 48ft building by themselves.

When you were sitting having the egg drop soup. Gina looked as if something wasn't quite as she expected. Was the soup ok? I've never seen egg drop soup made with cabbage and carrots!

Greenhouse is coming along nicely guys! Cant wait to see the finished project as well as all the fresh veggies that you'll be able to produce because of it. Kinda curious about the total man hours it's going to take and/or if they give you an estimate when you purchase it... we're growing beefsteak tomatoes, strawberries, romaine, snap peas, basil, parsley and cilantro in our little 16x16 garden here on Long Island

Try planting some potatoes on TOP of tilled soil. Then, completely cover them with hay (not straw). No more digging to harvest - just roll off the hay, and pick them up. You will love this way of growing potatoes.

Our NRCS hoop barns came from a business in Multonboro New Hampshire. We frabicated our own end walls. These metal end walls seem less than ideal. But I keep watching.

This year I'm NOT MOWING OR TRIMMING the steep hillside that 70 years ago should have been terraced into a flat surface with a stone built-up side. So have laid the patio fencing on the grass to kill it and stop me from a beckoning broken leg or hip. Nothing so worrisome as trying to cope with a temporary fix instead of a job done right the first time; the reason I enjoy your channel so much is your motto is PLAN AHEAD.

We started a beehive this year for the first time. We are trying meat birds. Last year we tried but a predator wiped out all 20 in one attack. Hoping for a better outcome this year! We also are add a second garden plot this year.
