Al try a product called aquaphor for you lips, it is in a white tube with blue text and lid. That is the only product I use and it works great for me, lips heal much faster for me as my bottom lip splits bad in the center in the cold weather.

The greenhouse is looking good. I've been a subscriber now for about a year but I have gone back and watched a lot of old videos from your playlist and others. I watched you build the 4X4 brooder and then I watched you build the $30 chicken tractor. In this video I noticed that Olivia seems to have gotten so tall. She looks so long legged and she is an absolutely beautiful child. Looks a lot like her mom. One of my favorite parts of your videos is seeing you all sit down to dinner as a family. I watch Coghill farm and he said something that would be a fun experiment; if you take anything red, so bell peppers, strawberries etc and put them in a blender with layer chicken food it will make the yolks dark orangey red; just fyi in case you wanted to try

We're still in a cold snap here too. Supposed to hit 30º tonight. We deal with winds here. In the summer it is nice to have a breeze running up the mountain but when it is cold, it cuts right through you. Glad the new chicks arrived healthy! Blessings to all.

I picked all the collards this week. They are great. There will be enough for at least a year. Brussels Sprouts are slowly growing. And I have 6 cabbage plants that have softball size heads. This is first year for all three of these. Just having fun in the sun in Florida. It is in the 30's, 40's, and 50's here. Suppose to be around 80 though tomorrow. Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers out there!

As the saying goes, "you do you boo and what works for y'all". The new meat birds are looking healthy, hope they stay that way. Gina, I am loving the rock "mulch" around the tree, it looks really good! Your greenhouse is looking great and looks like it will be very sturdy for your climate. I have high winds where I live too and it takes everything if it isn't nailed down. lol Use an antibiotic cream on your mouth area that is wind/sunburned and of course a medical chapstick. Supper looked yummy for sure!

When we get 'spring' like this, my daughter would say the weather was bipolar. She was in jr. high at the time. We like Burts Bees for lip/skin care.

Rebecca Shearer yes Burt’s Bees are good for cracked lips. In the skin cream aisle the sell hydrocortisone cream extra strength and put this on your face evening and again before bed. Use a face washing cream to wash your face instead of body soap and cerave face cream during the day. I use a sunscreen on my face winter and summer as I am sensitive and wind damage makes my face break out. Try it and you will find relief but you have to protect the skin as it burns bad winter and summer.

The "Polar Vortex" is affecting us in northern Alabama as well. The past couple nights it's been 38 degrees, but this morning was 34 degrees when I got up. Need it to warm up again to begin planting season.

Kimberly H its all about tax revenue. In the cold northern states its harder to get people to move there. There are also fewer jobs per capita. We left CT for NC in 1972 for that reason. Best move my father ever made!

Al, have you considered making a mobile wire feeder for the chickens, where its just an 8'W, 8'L, 2'T cube of cow panel the chickens could just walk into to get their feed? That way the goats can't steal it and you can put the chicken feed with the goat feed so you can feed them both in one visit. Just move the cube where you want them to go for the week.

Every time I watch one of your videos I think surely there is no more metal to go on the high tunnel ... I've been wrong for multiple days now! It's autumn here, we just had our first real below freezing night. My tomatoes all died. It has been wetter than usual with a lot of wind. Inland Australia is usually pretty dry.
