At most I could see him with two chickens - mainly due to the noise. But fresh laid eggs and store bought- no comparison, fresh are better and tend to have more nutrients in them

Chickens are really good at keeping down ticks. I thought my roommate was joking with me when he suggested instead of putting poison in the yard we get chickens when we unfortunately got infested with ticks a couple years ago. I was shocked after a couple of days those chickens turned into tick assassins. It makes me wonder if some of the smaller dinosaurs hunted the way those chickens did

Great on getting a protective enclosure for the puppies! I don't think anyone was surprise that Karen didn't share. I totally expected that. She didn't disappoint. My polar twins are doing great even though I was surprise that Jan picked a toy that was almost as big as him. Like you said they are looking so fluffy these days. Adorable March always so pleasant. Mama May looking on to make sure everything is okay. Much accomplished today, the new enclosure and the toys bought for the pups. Everything is coming together.

A good thing to get into the habit of is to yelp and pull your fingers away from them when they bite. The thing is if you feel teeth, you yipe and ignore. Play with them with the toys and they can bite those all they want. :) future owners will thank you .

@Joey put a tarp that extends a foot on two beyond the area with the dog house to create shade and a rain cover so that they can sill go out without getting soaked if it rains. Attach it using zip ties on top and sides and behind the doghouse to provide protection and even shade. Later on if they need more space to run around you could connect the two pens by attaching the panels to the new pen on either side of the door so that you control when they go into the larger open area plus it will be easier for you to pick them up and remove them from the pen when needed without crawling inside the new pen. It will also be easier to feed them and fill their water bowl up in the open enclosure.

It doesn’t get cold at night, as he has said. The inside situation was not working at all and was costing him loads most likely. The mom is nearby and still with them and im sure they hangout sometimes, but the pups would also harrass her a lot. I understand what you mean as I don’t think they are vaccinated. But overall joey is an awesome foster I believe. He is trying his best to make it better for them and himself too.

(accident at doggy daycare) seven of them (Red, Teal, Lavender, Pink, Yellow, Green, Blue) - Moon (male husky, kept one of lark's babies-Teal) - Shadow (male husky, J&D tried to keep Lark's baby Red, but he ended up having aggressive tendencies due to littermate syndrome so he had to find a new home like the others) - Sakura (black female pregnant rescue cat) (kept her) - Sakura's kittens, the zodiac litter (Gemini, Taurus, Aquarius, Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) - Azula (female foster cat, was pregnant but lost the litter) - Hen (foster mama from junkyard) - 6 junkyard pups (Duck, Goose, Shark, Otter, Bear, Moose) - foster mama dog Roo - Roo's litter (Hare, Tiger, Bison, Panda, Raccoon, Monkey) - Daenerys (white foster mama kitty) - D's kitties, the Greek Goddess litter (Athena, Persephone, Aphrodite, Nemesis, Rhea) - took care (for a couple of days) of a mama duck and her 9 babies that wandered into his backyard and got stuck - May (husky foster mama husky) - May's babies, the Months litter (January-light pink boy, February-bright red boy, March-lime green boy, April-hot pink girl, June-blue girl, July-purple girl, August-lilac girl, September-yellow girl, October-orange boy, November-black girl, December-aqua boy) *the babies are usually adopted by other people (other than Moon) and then renamed!

Having had, at one point, 30 pet chickens (we started with 2, how we got to 30 is anyone's guess), I gotta say... Oh, you'd be surprised XD. After that, at different times in my childhood, I had budgies, turtles and cats. I have to say, the chicken did the weirdest, but also most entertaining shit. They will mess up the lawn though. The grass in our garden still hasn't recovered from the trauma it sustained and it's been...almost 20 years? Let's say 15, to make myself feel better XD.

So some advice about chickens: get a few because there’s a strong chance some will die early, they’re kinda like goldfish in how delicate they are. 2) depending on the breed, your hens won’t lay eggs without a rooster in the coop

Keeping them with their mommy will help them to learn a healthier behavior towards others. Momma dogs are excellent in disciplining their children (especially the constant nipping and teeth contact could be avoided). It would be lovely and good for their socialisation to see them spend more time with their mother. It would also be beneficial for May's socialisation. She doesn't have any contact with other dogs. I don't really understand why you keep them separated from her... Please leave them with their mom until 8-10 weeks. She knows best.

Yep... I feel so sorry for this poor dog. This foster is not an ideal place for her. She has 0 contact with other dogs which is horrible for her socialization, plus she and the puppies are separated from each other which isn't a good thing for either of them...as much as I appreciate his kind heart, from a dog trainer's perspective (in training) , this environment isn't necessarily ideal for their future. Yet, I know that that crating and caging (temporarily) is much more common in the US than in Europe (where I am from)
