@Darin Ritter It's definitely growing on me!!! For me and what I want it for, I hit a sweet spot, she's pretty dang sporty, and still has plenty torque for a great work saw.

I picked up a 359 recently that had a bad impulse for 100 bucks. Gotta replace the seals too. Also looks like someone swapped a 357xp crank in it also. Excited to see how she runs

I had a not so desirable experience with my worked 359, but it came out ok. A circlip came out or broke when running the saw, and it resulted in about a one-sixteenth inch wide perfect looking straight incision going up the cylinder wall to near the combustion chamber, well deeper than the plating. It bummed me out because I had modded the cylinder, milled the base and all, so I feared no longer unusable with the compression loss and whatnot. The solution was filling the slot with some JB weld and smoothing it flat after it dried. I wouldn't have thought it would hold, but heavy use since and the saw runs real well as before the damage.

Stock Running a 24" bar mine doesn't bogg down like that pulling fairly hard on it.

It definitely needs it. My buddy's very mildly ported and muffler modded 359 is as fast as or faster than my 562xp. So yeah, this one here is tremendously limited.

I split the can on mine and removed the divider and it woke it up. Base gasket delete and a little clean up on the cylinder and it’s my go to saw now

Definitely lucked out on that one👍🏻 smooth runner, bout perfect for soft hands Steve😅 Really does sound constipated to me. A muffler mod should really help it out!

359 owner! I dont now what to say but i dont recognise the perormans compared to mine. Maybe because mine is the older version whitout katalysator. I seems yours is boggin down a lot.

I had my 359G för almost 20 years pure stock havent done anything to it, runs strong. To me this is 359 in the video have a to big bar.

Yah my 359 was about the same in stock form , not great , not bad , just meh . I sent it to rich dugen who ported it, totally different saw now , pulls a 28" no problem, i do wish it oiled a little better though , barely enough for the 28 " .

You can mod the oiler to get a bit more oil flowing.

the 357 is stronger. 359 is a detuned version.
