Husqvarna Chainsaw Won't Oil The Chain

Husqvarna chainsaw wont oil the chain. After some troubleshooting I found that the worm gear was being obstructed from wood shavings, oil and dirt. After cleaning it up the chain is now being oiled.

I really couldn’t understand this video.. What did you do under the engine cover? And what’s the piece you used to get the clutch off?

Under the engine cover I removed the clutch and cleaned it up. Then I manually spun the worm gear to make sure it was pulling oil from the tank. I then made sure the line that goes from the pump to the bar was not clogged. I used a chainsaw clutch removal tool to remove the clutch. Each model is different, so you would need the tool specific to your chainsaw. This was one of my earlier videos and watching it again, I did not capture all the details. I am always working to improve my videos. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I would just get one off Amazon or eBay. Search Husqvarna 350 clutch removal tool. Get one that comes with the piston stop.

A stick hooked in that metal plate on my chainsaw and the chain destroyed it! The worm screw is still working so it's just plugged up. I just need to replace the metal plate.

Well ive cleaned the oiler holes in bar I've cleaned the pump and the the worm gears and everything. Several times. I put it back together and before putting bar on i start it and see if ouler works. It does i put it all back together and i get no oil on bar.

Run the saw with the chain on and put up some cardboard in front of the saw. After a short bit do you see oil on the cardboard?

Hi . Nice video. I have an old 242G which will not oil the bar. I have been using bio oil and dont know if that also caused it to stop oiling. Is there a filtrr inside of the oil tank aditionally?

Awesome job mate, I have experienced the same issue,I used two different oils, however both bar and chain. Would this cause any issues with the chain not receiving oil???

Should not. Possibly the pump is bad.

His chain came off and it did its job at some point. Same thing happened to me once. Mine bent back without breaking. The damaged caused to the metal plate inside (at 2:19) was caused by the jumped chain too.

Maybe you can help me. I have a 445 that is not oiling the bar. I have replaced everything pertaining to the pump and the oil screen inside the sump is clean. There is no adjustment for oil feed on this model. I pressurized the oil sump and it blows out where the oil tube goes free and clear. The bar oil holes are clean as is the chain guide around the bar. From what I gathered the oil sump is not vented BUT my only clue is that with the oil pump assembly completely removed, and the saw laying oil pump/clutch side down on the bench, no oil flows out of the hole where the oil hose goes - until I open the oil fill cap on top at which time it flows freely out the bottom side. My only other clue is something called a duckbill, could this be the problem?

Yeah I think you are on to what the issue could be. I have not heard that term duckbill before. I was thinking check valve. After a quick google search both terms refer to the same thing.
