I have this 1970s era John Deere walk behind edger with a 3 horse Briggs and Stratton L head engine and I swear that thing is indestructible. Still runs like it is brand new, it even holds its own against most modern edgers. I really do miss when things were built 100% in the USA and didn’t use soulless Honda copies as engines.

Me too 🇺🇸. I have repowered so many Tractor's that had those modern blown up Inteks with flatheads its unreal. The older American products are keeping these newer Chinese hunks of crap going. I mowed with a mower that had that older 3.5hp Briggs. I remember it, it was satisfying in ways the new crap will never be.

@@jaysoncampbell7901 That one didn’t even have its original engine, it was blown to bits. I transplanted another one on lol. Beyond that it was a good machine. Older ATP-Husqvarna when Sears owned and controlled the asset.

Thanks, it should lol, replaced engine, steering assembly, mower deck. Painted mower deck, repaired front grille, seat cover, wash. It sold for $900.
