Looks too BOXY, most likely priced over €10K, and has a BAD color scheme of white and black (ok) but then yellow fork labels and bronze color forks and then the never-matching blue caps on the Fox forks. Plus the rear shock with its red cap, red pedals (of course color optional), and the aqua blue color markings on the tires. This bike screams Ride me in mud so that I can hide the UGLY color scheme that the MFR and owner put me through!

Really like the design, spec etc however, the lack of dealers and support network here in the UK completely pug me off - I think only two shops had them in stock, the nearest in my size was over 200miles away. Jonesy, you've got to get over 150mm is a sweet spot, there's no such thing as a sweet spot! If you ride in an area that is smooth single tract is 170mm or 180mm going to hurt you? I don't think so. What if you want to go ride somewhere else on vacation or whatever, and all of a sudden your facing a real rocky tech section, oh, I have plenty of travel, no problem!!! Get it?
@The.JZA. Жыл бұрын
150/160mm travel with burly/strong frame and components is perfect. I would class a bike like that as “All Mountain Enduro” aka it can do anything and everything. I like the 65.5° head tube angle too because I find that super slack head angles just result in floppy/lazy steering. I have a Mondraker Crafty R 150mm rear, 160mm front and same 65.5° head angle and I absolutely LOVE that bike. I’ve had it for about a year and a half and I am still in love it with, such a fantastic do-it-all bike. It also has the Bosch Gen 4 which is vastly superior to the Shimano EP8 in my opinion (I have owned both).

My must have when buying an Ebike, is a Bosch motor, don't mind the brand, but an Bosch motor is a must for me, most full suspension Ebikes ride relatively the same 🤪
@LastAphelion Жыл бұрын
They definitely don't, but it's only really apparent the harder you ride them. Admitting myself fall prey to when reviewers gush about the ride qualities of one over another when the irony is that I neither have the terrain nor fitness to be pushing one myself at their level to tell how one suspension platform might be less or more aggressive than another. But you can definitely tell right off when one brand gives the same suspension a racy tune vs another a cushy one, or when the suspension curve is more linear vs progressive
@rmoore4yris Жыл бұрын
I completely agree. I'm currently doing my research before purchasing an e-mtb. My main objective is having a Bosch motor and Fox suspension. The brand of bike and geometry isn't my main concern. I rode bicycles since 80's. I grew up adapting to the bikes geo, not having a bike fit me.

My sons both have Husqvarnas, great bikes, they turn nice and climb well, but,,, that whimpy Shimano motor has got to be improved in the lower cadences. My new Canyon is also cursed with an Ep8, and I would not buy another Shimano powered bike. I just bought my grandson a used 2019 Specialized Levo, and that old Brose 2.1 blows the brand new Ep8 away, especially at low cadence when climbing technical trails. You may say it isn't all about the motor, but my grandson is new at this sport, and he just casually pedals up rocky steep climbs that any Ep8 biker gets off and pushes. Same for his friends with Yamaha powered GasGas bikes. They are low cadence monsters, and the Ep8, well it just gives up when the trail gets steep and rough.

I've never ridden a Shimano motor, just Bosch. Very interesting observation about shimano and not the first neg I've heard. It does sound like a worse performing motor than I've hear others complain about their shimano, is there a possibility something is defective on it?
@bstevens76476 ай бұрын
@@vashon100 I've ridden at least 10 bikes with Shimano Motors all ep8, they are just underpowered compared to Bosch, Brose, Yamaha. The new 801is little better, but my 12 year old grandson on a 2019 specialized will blow a brand new 801 powered Husqvarna into the Weeds on a steep Hill Climb. There is a nice Steep Hill at a park near me about 40 yards long. Shimano powered bikes are always the slowest and in the lowest gear by the top of the hill.
