I tell people to spray wee-grass killer around their outdoor units that way they don't have to mow and throw grass in it plus it cannot grow into it either... If not you get what you had to deal with, or full of grass clippings, or vines even growing into them.. I have seen it all man... Stay safe bro, keep up the good work. Adam

careful suggesting that, because it's most always highly corrosive to metals and most will spray everything, including the unit, wiring, piping and more. it can be as bad or worse than animal/rodent urine.

From those wires on top of the condenser it looks like a generic motor. I like to designate a replacement motor with it’s own capacitor. I know you can wire them to a dual, but that’s just me.

I worked with a fellow being utilized as an installer. Did a great job, went through tech school, and requested to mov to the service department. He was also drug free and hard working. They refused to move him because he was doing such a good job. So, he left and is now - 15 years later - the service manager at a rather large company in town. @gamewizardks

I usually change out contactors wire for wire unless I arrive at a unit where the wires have already been removed or are in the wrong place from a previous tech or a customer that attempted to repair their own unit. (Both rare situations) If I have to trace wires, I do, but I don't need to take the time to label or memorize when I do it this way. That's what works for me and takes the least time. Glad you noticed the issue before turning it on. Great video.

Leaving the capacitor in the box makes it last longer. :) I like that trick device you have for swapping schrader valves under pressure. You should try and get accredited and offer one or two students at the time OJT, with the goal to become certified AC Tech's. You could grow your company and do it with reliable people.

Every HVAC tech should have at least 2 of those core removal tools, more if they also work on VRF and/or mini split systems, as most of them have 5/16" ports. Not just for replacing leaking valve cores, also greatly speeds up refrigerant recovery and system evacuation.
