Work for tech support for a MFG, it’s nice seeing/hearing a tech that cares and has knowledge. Talking with these techs day to day doesn’t have any idea or understanding of basic refrigeration, so it’s definitely nice seeing this

👍👍. I’ve also used it to clamp off the suction to verify the valves are bad on small compressors that don’t have suction stops.

Rick what do you think the solution is to people not caring? Is it just the way it is or can company/union leadership or teachers do anything about it? Thankfully it hasn't been too much of an issue at the company I work for we are only a 4 service technician shop in small town (4k people) I always hear "if they paid more!" But fast food workers are getting paid better than ever and the service is 20 times worse now 😂 I fear it's just a general trend of society nowadays, alot of people don't care about work, being healthy, even maintaining the yard or vehicle they drive. People appreciate your videos and insight more than you know!

We were paid a percentage of what the company made originally when I first started here. We called it a commission base, but it was basically just a split of what the company billed, no incentive to sell anything differently than normal. Just do the work right or you ended up losing money when someone else had to go back and do it. The way it worked was we got paid better than traditional hourly rate. We just recently discontinued it after using it for 35 years, several people were stressed out when others came back in said the job wasn’t done correctly and then people lost money over it, then it caused animosity between the technicians. Every shop is having its issues right now. We’re still paid really well but now there’s no incentive to do it right.

Critically charged system uses vapor to harvest. Recover, repair and weigh in factory charge. Ice machine also runs higher fan cycle pressure to ensure full column, don’t recommend deviating from the factory settings on these units as they are pretty sensitive.

I like to run a bead of silicone to bridge all the loops on the cap tubes. It keeps the loops separated from each other and from rubbing

When I was working and came up behind someone else. I would go over and repair there repairs because they will bite you in the A$$. I was asked one time why am I doing that. I want the work to be 100%. I worked in a union shop and I never rat on a union brother.

I agree. Some make a honest mistake and some just don’t care. I’ll base my response on the persons attitude. Either way the customer doesn’t need to know more than it’s fixed now.
