At this time, there's zero reason to have a lot of people evacuate. The damage is localized, evacuating other areas without a reason to do so would be a huge waste of money and resources. This is a continuation of a volcano that has been actively erupting for many years.

Wow,100 yards and hour, so fast right?...You can walk faster...And if you if the wind isn't blowing in your direction there's no air problem...You don't think all those people are staying and living there if it were so dangerous, do you??...Fear mongers on here...

Ok so this is what is going to happen, kilua has been erupting for the past 30 years! My guess is that lava Lake and the lava under that lake has finally melted all the existing bedrock that has blocked up old lava tubes over this past 30 odd years and now it's moving again, that's why the lake has dropped and all that lava that was once in the lake is now going to erupt out new fissures, its now 20 fissures but I believe and think that the number to open up is still a long way yet to come!
@ladykiri426 жыл бұрын
James Edwards, thanks for pointing out that it's been going on for about 30 years. However, the volcano named Kilauea is a shield volcano, therefore there is no bedrock to need melting, nor does this type of volcano suddenly erupt massively. There *might* be 250,000 people living on the whole island, but never in history has any of our volcanoes here caused lava to flow over the entire island.

I`m sure that there is going to be a giant land slip into the ocean { it happens every 170 or so years} and is due. The fissures are going straight across the slip zone and the lava underneath will be used as a lubricant with pressure and this section will slip into the ocean, no one should be below the fissure line when the slip happens there will be no escape!!

I think it is ridiculous that people are cancelling vacation and visitation plans to Hawaii because of the eruptions. I want to go there so bad. I've always wanted to go to Hawaii at least once in my life. I love geology and volcanology, and I want to see and experience everything about Hawaii from the volcanoes to the rain forests as well as the native culture. The thing is that I'm disabled and living on SSI. There is no possible way I would ever afford the travel expenses or any other expenses. It must go well beyond $1,000 so you have to be well off to go there just to look around and immediately go back home. So, I just can't possibly understand why anyone that can afford to visit there would just change plans just because of new fissures. People are freaking out and over reacting to a normal process, and it just blows my mind. What is happening is beautiful and fantastic, and I just think it's a waste to stay away because of something new and unusual.

I said this was going to continue over a week ago. It is a Grand Solar Minimum. #1 Increase Volcanic Activity #2 Increased Earthquake Activity #3 Increased Clouds #4 Drop in cold temperatures in the same locations as the Great Ice Age 45,000 year ago #5 Rising Temperatures in the exact same places as the Severe Droughts in the last Ice Age 45,000 years ago #6 Ocean rise will slow and then stop. #7 As the ice sheets start to rebuild, the oceans will start lowering. The earth is still in the effects of the last ice age. The inter-glacial cycle ended around 1999-2000 and is going back into a glacial period. Every return to an ice age, is marked by increased Volcanic and Earthquake activity. Did you know that some of the record cold temperatures and snow fall that were set in 1924, were matched or broken here in the North East USA during this winter cycle. What happened in Hawaii in 1924? Bing Go! It was a Solar Minimum, but it was a Solar Minimum in a warming cycle. This is a Solar Minimum in a cooling cycle.

Since the top rulers worship Satan, and they have access to secret information, doesn't that make you think that just maybe Satan's creator exists? I worship the creator, NOT the creations.

This must be common slang in the Western US, since I grew up using this word in CA, and - like this reporter - I was unaware of it's origins...
