great video I have bought hydrocal but having trouble getting it to absorb into water it doesn't absorb into water like your video at all.it just sits on top what am I doing wrong?I have to mix as I pore it in water and just doesn't want to absorb the water very well do you have any suggestions?

To mix sift the hydrocal into the water, it should kind of float on top a few seconds then sink into the water, keep slowly adding it until it stops sinking into the water and remains a bit dry on the top. Wait about a minute and you will see some cracks form, then go in with a spoon or your hands and just give it a little mix to make sure you don't have any lumps or dry pockets. If you go in with a power tool to mix you'll cut the working time in half. It should start out really runny but after a few minutes become more like mayo, then more like mud, then more like clay and finally more like firm clay. It will go through a phase where it gets warm, eventually it will begin to feel a bit cold. Once it's gone through both and returns to room temperature it can be handled.

@@SyBernot thank you I appreciate your advice maybe it was the sifting factor I didn’t use a sifter I just kind of sprinkled it in with a spoon I’ll try that next time for sure thank you so much 😊

How much time it needs to dry, that it is stable? Can I make the drying time faster?

An endothermic reaction is one that absorbs heat from the surroundings and therefore gets cold. Did you mean exothermic?

Silk Boxing The figure I found at US Gypsum's web site is 45:100 water to plaster by weight.

hi , i have a doubt is the Hyderocal and the plaster of pairs is same or different thanks

Hydrocal is a more dense casting gypsum based material than plaster of paris. Hydrocal cures to an almost "porcelain type hardness". This allows a much greater detailed casting. Softer and lightweight plasters will chip & crumble when removing the casting from the mold, losing much of the finer detail as was on the master.

Woodland Scenic Superwet, are you serious! These companies will do anything to make you spend more money with them. Just spray with normal tap water with a little dish soap added. Done!
