How does the actual ring at the top of the mast engage to secure the halyard/mainsail? Do you have any pictures? (My Hobie is a bit of a PITA to get that crimped brass fitting in the right slot.)

we have developed the following fail-proof solution. Like this the ring alway hooks in and out at the first attempt: bit.ly/KZbin_iFLY_Heru_Softwing_Turorial By connecting the halyard with the ring by a small lash line, the ring is pulled on and off the hook, that is pivoted 30degree out of the symmetry plane of the mast.

up to 10% more efficient, especially in the stong breeze, and more stable than a regular a-class styl decksweeper sail

How much more speed or efficiency do I get if I use this in stead of my regular sail? I have a 29' monohull.

there are several advantages. i) stability: the flow on the sail is more laminar, there are less turbulences. This makes the whole boat gliding/flying more stable, especially in stronger winds. I love to sail the wing in strong winds beyound 25knots. ii) the wind is more aerodynamic than a mast plus monolayer sail, even of latest generation. The wing allows higher top speeds (beyound 30knots on iFLY) iii) I observed that I can sail higher angles upwind, while keeping the same speeds. The vmg is excellent.
