I grew up in a church that had an organist that would accompany hymns like this, and it was so thrilling to sing that final verse with full pipe organ, and the alternative harmonies underneath.

I myself used to play on a kilgen pipe organ at Highlands Christan church in Colorado many years ago; hearing this one blew my mind big time!! always knew what power it can give; and a great bit of thanks to Todd Wilson's playing indeed!!

I love when organists milk the last chord then release it with body language. I'm not one, but it has to be one of life's great pleasures for them.

Goosebumps indeed! This is excellent. As much as I love good hymn playing, rarely am I compelled to sing a long with a KZbin video. Superlative.

Sir, you have given me goosebumps with this rendition. What's better than a combination of one of the greatest hymns ever written and an organist who works pure magic?!! Thanks for one of my most favorites hymns, EVER! God bless you. R.I.P., Charles Wesley.

I think kilgens were some of the most majestic and beautifully voiced organs for their time.

Great to hear you create new harmonies beneath "Rejoice the Lord is King," and to build the organ so easily and so seamlessly. You need to return to K.C. so the Mrs. and I can take you for more great ribs near the airport. Remember who we are?

Superb hymn playing in a Catholic parish! That's not something that one frequently hears in the R.C. churches. We have eight Catholic churches in our medium-sized city, and I don't think that any one of them is known for musical excellence. Your parish obviously is! A+, Sir!

It's a shame that the R.C churches in general pay so little effort in their music .

There are only pipes in that organ
@Pipe-organ-recordings8 жыл бұрын
+Stephen Jarrett it only has pipes, but it might sound electronic since your are listening to it through electronics instead of acoustically.

Kilgen organs are nice, but they sound like they suffer from nasal congestion. Give me a Skinner any day.
@Pipe-organ-recordings8 жыл бұрын
+robertiacomacci Many organ from that period did. It was poor/fast voicing of the trebles. Their pitches would slightly shake. That is what gave them that quality. Skinner took care with the trebbles
@robertiacomacci8 жыл бұрын
All organs have their very own nature and sound. Kilgens are amazing in power, but far too nasal for my liking.

Skinner and Kimball were likely the best builders of the first half of the 20th century. Enjoy, started by Mr. Skinner and then finished by Mr. Harrison at Mr. Jepson's order: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIKYoWyCmc97aZo
