@roguekeychain On the steam page you can see some screenshots of WIP gameplay and the descriptions on the steam page give a little more insight into what the game is going to be like. TLDR: It can be played singleplayer but also has online multiplayer with groups of players going through 'runs' which implies it could take a bit of inspiration from Risk of Rain 2. It also seems like there is going to be a lot of customization in what weapons and items you bring into the run, and it seems to me like there may be some outfit customization (that's not confirmed, just a feeling I had). Lastly, it seems like there is going to be a hub which changes over the course of your runs with new characters who each have stories.

Drifter is one of my all-time favorite indie games. Such an incredible experience overall. I was really hoping Breaker would be pixel art-based, not 3D. That element gave so much character to Drifter’s atmosphere. However, I am very much willing to give it a chance. I have yet to play Solar Ash, but I know it’s good! Disasterpeace better be on board with this one. I cannot get enough of his music :D

I think I heard that an animated series was in the pipeline as one of the adult-oriented animated action series adapted from video games that Adi Shankar was producing for Netflix as part of his Bootleg Multiverse project after Castlevania, and I would expect the animation to look like the opening of this trailer. I think he also wants to make animated adaptations of Devil May Cry, Assassin's Creed, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, and make an original show called Captain Laserhawk, which would be a crossover of sorts between Far Cry and a handful of other Ubisoft properties. It basically sounds like Captain N: The Game Master from the 1990s if it had the tone of Castlevania.

i hope this game makes a return to form with the dialog, as i felt like solar ash's story was a bit sidelined by using voice dialog, since something that drew me to hyper light drifter was its penchant for visual storytelling. Otherwise, im extremely exited for this!

@@Rocket_PC really? i never encountered any... what immediately grabbed my attention when i played it was that the amount of health and bullets you have, and the amount of damage you inflict in the game was perfectly balanced. never too difficult or too easy. even after getting all the upgrades. as if they are done with much care

Well if the "Breakers" will have the same abilities as The Drifter, the gameplay will feel amazing. I reckon they'll add more different melee attacks than just sword slashes, like stabbing someone with the spear and throwing them at another opponent (as in the trailer animation). I have the feeling breaker will feel alot more fluid, and the Drifter gameplay in a 3D enviroment really appeals to me. If the visuals are even nearly as stunning as the trailer animation i have no doubt that the gameplay will be absolutely nutty, but i can't tell for sure if the story elements and visual storytelling will be as magical as it was in the 2D enviroment of Drifter, but as long as the gameplay rocks i don't need a good story (or a story... at all), already got that from the first game.

Sadly we don't usually get those perfect balances of aspects, but one can hope HLB does something close while somehow keeping the atmosphere and enigmatic storytelling of HLD. Though not sure if that will be done with co-op being a large aspect of the game. Though the series of games based around 'Shelter', the original game, had a multiplayer release where people communicated through symbols for different things. I doubt HLB will, but could do something along those lines.

Looking at this trailer, I was really hyped... until i saw that it doesn't seem to be pixel art... The gorgeous pixel art in HLD was proabably what I loved the most about it... it's honestly what kept me playing until the end, because I just wasn't a big fan of the gameplay, but loved it more as artworks than a game... I'll give HLB a shot too, but I honestly wish it was pixel art again...

Holy shit. I'm so down. I loved HLD so much. I have one concern, and please know that it comes from a place of love and respect: PLEASE do not make the characters overly chatty and voice-acted. I loved HLD for the minimalist approach, and IMO Solar Ash would have been so much better if the characters talked like 90% less.
