This is coming together to be a Risk of Rain 2 kinda sequel. The best sequel a game can have. Hyper Light Drifter, as I tell everyone in my life, is my favorite videogame ever. I'm genuinely more excited for this than anything else I've seen in gaming for YEARS.

It became really obvious with that giant piece of tech that you gradually activate as the main goal, everytime it gets a new charge, a _diamond_ on it lights up on it with _pink energy._ For those who never caught the detail, that pink stuff, that's also all over the place in Hyper Light Drifter, THAT'S *hyper light.* All the tech in Solar Ash is based on the exact same stuff as the tech in HLD, and it's also possible that the planet you're trying to save is the same world as the one in HLD.

@@Cri_Jackal I remember hearing from an article that included an interview with the devs (take this with a grain of salt because i don't remember which in particular) that it was the same universe, but many, MANY lightyears away. so the tech being similar makes sense but not likely to be the same planet.

HLD helped inspire me to start schooling to be game developer. I absolutely LOVE Hyper Light Drifter. To the point of obsession. This trailer is not only well made, but it looks like Heart Machine has been working on the game for a while. I haven't seen an interview saying whether or not it is a silent narrative, but I actually loved the silent but beautiful story. The symbolism is sad, beautiful, and numerous. I have typically known to have had a wild imagination as a kid by most of my friends. I first played it for the first time as a 13-year-old kid, and then platinumed it last year on PlayStation. In that time, I created an entire fantasy world that is as interesting as this one and has a vibrant landscape. My dream is to make games in my world from its creation and ending at a peaceful end. I know it's a longshot, but I would be overjoyed if I work with Heart Machine on a future game after college.

Hyper Light Drifter is one of my favorite games, but a procedurally generated open world has me a bit worried. 😅 I prefer tightly crafted games because procedural generation can get old pretty fast. But I'm willing to give this game a chance! It looks so cool!
