The T-38 is the type of aircraft I wish Microsoft would see and then team up with Milviz to bring it to the marketplace for everyone on both pc and console as a free release. I say this as a console user.

Isn’t it just, Marshie! Hmm, that seems a bit strange. . . I only run at 1080p so, perhaps that’s why we’re seeing different results? I’ve finally managed to figure out a satisfactory configuration with DLSS / frame gen so, hopefully things will be even more buttery-smooth in the future (and I might *finally* get around to recording at higher resolutions also ; ) I hope you’re keeping well. 100%! The “Shrike” Sabre, came out not long after the ported / freeware of the F86 was released so, I’m hoping at the very least, that the T38 will be next to get the same treatment (though I would rather see a full MILBird / BlackVIZ release). All the best!

With the latest version of the Airshow Assistant you can select your position in the formation, in addition you can also select separate liveries for the wingmen. This version has been out for a week now so you might need to update it. There is also another very cool feature that we're currently beta testing that should be available next week potentially. It's just not my position to say what that feature is just yet 😉

I have an issue with my version where when I go to 90 degrees above the horizon in attitude, my planes just glitch out. I also can't go above 2Gs without my planes breaking formation. Any idea what might be going on?

Hi SH, I’ve found that the “90 degree issue”, is just a little bit of a limitation of the program. One can adjust the wingman reaction time and manoeuvrability, in order to improve formation cohesiveness a little but, 3-4 g’s is about the most I can manage, before my wingmen break formation. Again, I think it’s just a “limitation” of the way things have been programmed (striking a balance between the rigidity of the formation and how realistic your wingman’s manoeuvres look). I hope that clarifies things a little. All the best! : )

Haha indeed, RTR; unfortunately, Flight Control Replay (the tool I was using for the external shots) does have some limitations, such as a limited choice of angular offsets for the wingman. It would have been a bumpy ride for that guy haha! Cheers, all the best : )

The T-38 is beautiful, inside and out. I would pay for a fully functioning version of that aircraft. Unfortunately I don't want to fly an aircraft with non-functioning gauges and cockpit controls, even if it's free. It makes me sad that it's halfway there but still so far away. 😉

Fair enough, Jigsaw. I’m hoping that the T-38 will receive the “Shrike” treatment at some point (or better yet, Blackbird give us a full-fidelity version of the aircraft), given that the Sabre was also initially released as Flightsim.to freeware. Fingers crossed! All the best : )

Haha, one can indeed use Airshow Assistant with almost any aircraft, Roland (for the time being, helicopters seem to throw a spanner in the works). The addon has also come a long way since this vid; you can now set different aircraft / liveries within the formation, as well as adjusting the player’s position and height in relation to the wingman / wingmen. I picked up the Marketplace version of AA during the spring sales, for an incredible £1.50 (ish)! Both on and off screen, I’ve been having a lot of fun with the tool (no A320 formation flights just yet though haha). Cheers! : )

Well, I have some good news at long last I am getting a rig that will be able to run the sim at more appropriate speeds. Bye by to settling for 5 to 15 FPS, along with the inability to run the AN-225, ATR-72, PMDG DC-7, A-310, and the Hindenburg. I will also likely be able to run such ad ons like this without my rig having a slight processor attack. (You may not know but I have been running on an AMD Phenom II x6, with ge force 780 since I encountered your channel ITBS, so this is a big deal for me. At last I will see FPS as you have in these vids, along with not having concerns if the product will run on my system due to WASM issue (like the ATR, 225, and DC-7)

@@IntotheBlueSimulations It has been marvelous. The DC-6 is absolutely gorgeous, as is the Hindenburg. The AN-225 is tricky to fly, but nice, and the ATR-72 is a plane I am quite impressed by. This new rig is the first time I have run a flight sim on a machine it was meant to be on. LOL.

A Thunderbirds livery was available however, it was an older paint scheme and just (to my eyes) looked a bit “plain Jane “ on the Talon. I hope that clarifies things. Hi SouthernHawk, It depends a little bit of the type of aircraft / flight etc but, generally, I use 30% on the spacing, 100% on manoeuvrability and 0% on the reaction delay (the rest I leave at default values). I hope that helps? All the best! : )

The Northrop T-38 Talon is a two-seat, twinjet supersonic jet trainer. It was the world's first supersonic trainer, as well as the most produced. Its handling was relatively conventional. While it was originally considered to be too easy to fly compared with frontline fighters of the 1960s, by the twenty-first century, it had become regarded as the most challenging aircraft in the USAF's inventory. The aircraft's agile performance earned it the nickname "white rocket". It had been considered by trainee pilots to be a somewhat unforgiving aircraft from an aerodynamic standpoint. During 1962, the T-38 set absolute time-to-climb records for 3,000, 6,000, 9,000, and 12,000 meters, beating the records for those altitudes set by the F-104 in December 1958. The F-4 Phantom beat the T-38's records less than a month later. Most of the USAF's aircraft, T-38A and AT-38B, have been converted to the T-38C through an avionics upgrade program. Improvements include the addition of a head-up display, global satellite positioning, inertial navigation system, and traffic collision avoidance system. A friend of mine will soon be flying this jet - most likely a T-38 c version - as a flight instructor for the German Air Force in the USA. He is almost my age and used to fly Eurofighters and Tornados at Nörvenich Air Base near Cologne. Now you can fly the T-38A as a virtual aircraft in MSFS, as iTB once again beautifully demonstrates. The add-on is the Milviz T-38 Talon for FSX, converted to native GLTF format for use with MSFS and distributed as freeware with permission from Milviz/Blackbird.

Hi Dave, By “camera effects”, I meant the shaking, vibration, etc of the cockpit / airframe. The actual “camera viewfinder” featured, I added in during editing : ) I hope that clarifies things. All the best!

Hi Skipjack, The aircraft is a freeware port and I believe, MILVIZ made certain stipulations when allowing the modder to port the aircraft over (such as a non-clickable cockpit). The same was done with the MILVIZ Sabre and that has just seen a full MSFS release (via Shrike) so, I would imagine / hope the same may well be done with the T38 at some point. Hi MagicFox, If you’re referring to the T38, I doubt that the aircraft will be released on the console (at least in its current state). The addon is freeware and is only available from the Flightsim.to website. That being said, it’s quite possible that the aircraft will be released as payware in due course, as “Shrike” just did the same thing with their Sabre (releasing it as freeware first). The scenery is also freeware / unavailable on Xbox but, Airshow Assistant is available on the console, should you wish to try that out for yourself : ) I hope that clarifies things a little. Hi Skaska, Are you referring to your own aircraft, or to playbacks with wingmen / AI aircraft? I’ve yet to find a decent way to run playbacks with AI aircraft (especially at high speed / close range) - the stutters seem to be an inherent issue in MSFS. For the external shots with the wingmen, I was making use of Flight Control Replay’s “ghost” function, which allows one to essentially play back their own aircraft recordings and then offset a “ghost” of those recordings, somewhat acting like a wingman. I hope that clarifies things a little. All the best! : )
