i think the "buy American act" like for military, municipalities, etc. requires 80% of the value added (fabrication, assembly, etc) be in Murka ... SFMF

They're both mostly US made. They also both make cars out of the country. Also, it's not that it's not made in the US. Most people just don't want cheap Chinese tools. It's unreasonable to make hand tools in America unless they're going to be of a decent quality because of the cost of labor. Usually, not always, US made hand tools are far better than Chinese made hand tools. That's just a fact. Japanese hand tools are excellent as well.
