I love listening to you. You're a great storyteller 😊, I will be looking forward to your future videos on this, and I'm glad you're finally getting this treatment! Crazy about the movie selections though lol.. who is picking the movies 😂😂

That's nice to hear- thank you! And I have learned that the medical technician who goes into the chamber with the patients for the "dive" is the one who gets to pick the movie. We have three different medical technicians who rotate through going into the chamber with us- one of them likes sports-related movies. Another likes comedy and action. It is the third guy with the more "eccentric" taste.

I just discovered you. I’m about to start chemo tomorrow. Thank you for sharing your experiences. They definitely reduce the anxiety

Thanks Jeff. I hope your first chemo session went easy on you. The days following the infusion are tough- but hang in there. 💪💪

@@parristx thanks for the tip on fasting. It made a big difference in reducing constipation issues. So far, everything is tolerable. Thank you again for your advice and cheerful personality.

Parris, I never would have made it passed the initial consultation.

I developed radiation cystitis and Proctitis nine months after ending PBRT. After 40 hyperbaric treatments my cystitis cleared and my rectal bleeding stopped. I still have rectal motility problems but I can manage them medically. I was lucky in that I had my own plexiglass coffin shaped chamber and was “taken down” to 80 feet for 90 minutes. Equalizing ears was a problem for a few.

So glad to hear that HBOT worked for you! I am not sure if I would be more or less panicky in an individual chamber than in the group chamber.

Parris, did they play Billy Joel's Pressure song, or Queen's Under Pressure song?

That's so crazy w the movies. Thanks for sharing Paris. Is this something that ins pays for? If not, how much is it if u don't mind sharing? Also might be a stupid question but how is this different than just breathing in from a portable oxygen tank?

I read the book that movie was based on. It’s a true story. Very sad.

You must be rich to afford all of these treatments! I have tinnitus and a have read about people trying the HBOT for tinnitus but it seems any improvements reported were along the lines "I think it helps". Nothing definitive. Improvements are so marginal that they are not significant. One word: placebo. I think your doctor's scepticism is warranted but if you have the money why not try.

Health insurance covers most of the cost. To do the course of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (40 sessions) would cost about $10,000 without insurance. I will end up paying about $1,000 towards the cost. I can't say anything definitive yet about improvements with the radiation proctitis but I can absolutely say the arthritis in my left thumb is 90% improved. I had pretty much stopped using my left hand for anything that needed any force- the pain was terrible. But now I am opening bottles and jars again with that hand. That's not placebo. It could be coincidence- maybe my arthritis improved on its own- but a 90% improvement?
