I thank Dr. Larian for these videos. These records were like a guide for me, and I went to my doctors already prepared. Today is day 10 since I had my parathyroid adenoma removed. The operation lasted 2 hours, as the surgeons examined all 4 thyroid glands. The first thing I felt after the operation was that I didn't feel old anymore, the tiredness that had dragged on for years was gone. My quality of life decreased so much that I asked my endocrinologist for help, and he recommended surgery. I am currently 54 years old. I have been suffering from primary hyperthyroidism for over 10 years. However, radiological examinations during these years did not show diseased parathyroid glands, so there was no need for surgery as well as not genetically inherited. I recently found in my blood tests history that I had an elevated calcium level already in 2007, but my family doctor did not pay attention to it. How can it be that for all these 15 years I was shown the same calcium elevation, but the parathyroid hormone every time was different?

Very similar circumstance. Having surgery in a few weeks lack of continuity of care. I think it was my problem. My calcium had been elevated for at least 10 years, but I was seeing different doctors and none of them seem to think it was that big of a deal.

Same here- continued high calcium and a bunch of symptoms, so bad bed bound most all the time. 105 lbs, 61, nervousness extreme, poor appetite, severe constipation, digestion issues, extreme depression, body malaise, facial & head scalp sores, healthy diet. Also 5 years Graves disease/ hyperthyroidism & on Metholmazole daily. Kidney stones some. Endocrinologist just diagnosed last week finally hyperparathyroidism, with high calcium, high iron, high folate, low red cells. Going Sestamibi scan soon. We'll see how this goes from here? May 17th 2024. ??? Lp

One thing I’ve noticed that the doctor hasn’t talked about is a possible remedy naturally rather than getting it surgically removed. Or speak of what’s the possibility why it’s happening. What I’ve learned and read about hyperparathyroidism is that it can be due to toxicity possibly. He haven’t mentioned anything about vitamin K2 that helped conduct pushing the calcium back to the bones or magnesium that help assist pushes calcium back to the bones or any of the minerals like iodine and boron as a possibility to try along with fasting for long period so your body can regenerate. Happy health to everyone.

Hi Phoenix, primary hyperparathyroidism is caused by mutations in the DNA. And unfortunately we don’t know of any natural remedy that can reverse that. Vitamin D & K2 can decrease the impact on the bones and minimize bone loss, but don’t treat the original tumor

Yes Sarina, these numbers show a classic hyperparathyroidism case. And naturally you would feel terrible.

Thank you Dr. Larian! I'm going for my Parathyroidectomy right after New Years. I'm a 58 year old male with one adenoma on my lower right parathyroid. (Calcium-11.6, PTH-91). No coincidence that I had "low dose" radiation treatment (following Keloid removal) 29 or 30 years ago. Same side (right). Treatment that DID NOT work, I might add, because the keloid grew back and eventually grew bigger than the original size! During my research, I found a couple of articles that show a relationship between head and neck irradiation and parathyroid tumors, with the time frame listed as.... "Average latency between radiation exposure and Hyperparathyroidism of 30 years". I'd love to hear your thoughts and if you've had any patients with this experience? Thank you and Happy New Year!

Recently diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism, Cold & Hot Gland with Enlarged Thyroid and multiple nodulrs on Iodine Nuclear Study, Thyroglobulin level Is 45! EXTREME BONE PAIN! Brother had thyroidectomy due to papillary thyroid cancer plus chemotherapy. Two years later Adenocarcinoma Tumor and had 17" of intestine removed and more chemo. Unsure what is my future, referred to Roswell Cancer Institute in two weeks. Unable to seek endocrinologist for 4 months! 😢 Any tests or surgeon I should seek? 😅

Sounds like you may have normocalcemic hyperparathyroidism. I would suggest repeating the labs after one month of vitamin D supplementation (1000-3000 IU daily), fasting and at 8 AM.

It can cause fatigue and body aches like when you have the flu but not runny nose and congestion. Anxiety happen to majority of patients.

I’m thoroughly convinced this is what’s wrong with me for a few years now. Yet doctor has done ZERO other than give me diuretics. When asked why is this happening. He says we don’t know what causes this. I battle constant high calcium in my urine which is what he’s treating me for. My potassium is always low. So he’s piled on a mountain of potassium chloride pills. Have had kidney stones many times as well. I need HELP

When the parathyroid is in the chest, usually a thoracic surgeon and a parathyroid surgeon work together to take it out.
