My son, 54 yrs, was diagnosed with primary parahyperthyroidism and osteoporosis. Very soon after that we discovered he was gluten intolerant and obviously has been for years. Eliminating the gluten has changed his life dramatically. Will this have any bearing on his thyroid? Will it alter his osteoporosis progression? He is taking AlgaeCal Plus and Stontium rather than Fosamax. He is also taking Vit. D, alpha lipoic acid, and a multi vitamin prescribed by his chiropractor. His thyroid dr. prescribed cincalcet. He also takes metoprol and amlodipine. I really don't want to use Fosamax if there is any other treatment.

For YEARS I`ve felt...not right to down right awful. I have joint pain, soreness all over, SUPER fatigued, depressed, high BP despite eating WFPB diet w/ ZERO sodium and exercising, heart palpitations (had Atrial flutter 5 years ago) etc. But I just thought that was from getting older (currently 63yr WM). Well, I checked my blood results from my yearly exams at the Veteran`s Administration and my calcium has been over 11.0 for 7 years! I asked the doc about it and she did another test for INTACT-PTH and PO4 and CALCIUM. My INTACT-PTH is 198.3! CAL is 11.4 and PO4 is low. So, for years and years I`ve suffered and suffered no one said a word or investigated further until i did my own research. And people wonder why veterans HATE the damn VA.

If high dose iodine works to shrink thyroid nodules due to a very common iodine deficiency (Dr David Brownstein) then why not parathyroid adenomas? I think it does work from personal experience

Thankyou. That was very informative. I appreciate your time and expertise. I had my P A out 2 weeks ago. It was a bit harder than I imagined, But I also have PNH. (Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglibinuria) So I had to go off Warfarin and then onto a Heparin IV after surgery, then Clexane and back to Warfarin. I'm assuming it was more difficult because of swelling and bruising but unsure. I've never had this done before and so guessing. I'm in New Zealand. My ear Canal still has pressure sensation. Does this last long?

I had parathyroid surgery 5 days ago. Only one gland was removed and only the right side was checked. PTH right after surgery was 96, up from 85. I feel worse than ever. Hot flashes are returning after being 2 years post menopause. Not happy.

Thank you Doctor. My parathyroid scan results just showed I have a parathyroid adenoma because my endocrinologist wanted to find out what was causing my hypercalcemia. I am not surprised at the results. I'm just relieved we now have the evidence we needed. I'm certain she will schedule a parathyroidectomy for me. I just want to feel normal/healthy again!

I am going to Mayo for a biopsy in the next week; they are booked out a month ahead. This is a very important and good film. They have too many customers while you are looking for them. Work something out that's a win/win. Do a mutual study & make some more open access videos. 😘

I have been diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism. I’m due for a consultation in a couple of weeks. My calcium however has never been above 10.0. Since I’ve read more about it I’m thinking that I finally have the answer to my daddy’s problems. At 67 he had an aortic valve replacement. The surgery took shockingly longer than expected by the surgeon because of the amount of calcium deposits in and around the valve. After that he continued to decline. Within a month he lost 25 pounds and was having delusional thoughts and hallucinations. He forgot how to do things. He was peeing constantly and his bladder was bloody and raw according to his urologist. The urologist even said it wasn’t contracting therefore causing urine to constantly be in his bladder. After another month he was placed in a mental hospital and given medication because of the severity of his delusions. He went into a catatonic state and the scans showed some atrophy but not enough to cause his catatonic state. He came home after a couple of weeks but we lost our daddy mentally in the course of two months and he never returned. It was like no one knew what was wrong with him. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and then had a shunt placed for NPH. I spent many years trying to figure out what had happened to him. I truly think he had this as well and it saddens me to know he could’ve gotten better. He suffered many years and the last few years were so bad. He eventually passed away from kidney failure. He had had kidney stones throughout his lifetime as well. Please share any feedback on this. I would appreciate if.

May vitamin D supplementation without calcium supplementation cause more harm than good by absorption of calcium from bone? Though it is learnt that indiscriminate use of OTC medication containing both calcium and Vitamin D is the third most common cause of hypercalcemia.

Female, age 77 WFPB 26 months, weight 112, height 5’ 2” Beginning October 2023 Vitamin D25 was low (23). Since 2019 blood calcium is very high normal 10. PHT has creeped up to 75. Am I looking at hyperparathyroidism, and surgery? I have had osteopenia for several years and have taken Reclast infusions but seems that it’s stopped working and the endocrine doctor wants me to take another similar treatment (injections). All other bloodwork is perfect. I don’t take any prescription drugs. Do you recommend anything that I can do vs potential surgery? I don’t take calcium and do exercise a lot. I have no symptoms

I read that vitamin K too lowers blood calcium so is that a good solution versus surgery? Are we talking about two different things here. Thank you.

Can it affect your eyesight as well? I got sick 2 years ago, almost overnight my bp went dangerously high. My eyesight is affected(I have areas in my vision that sort of "vibrate", and I cant read white text on black backround anymore). I've had spasms, losing feeling on my body. But I also noticed a rash type thing on my skin(arms, legs, even cheeks at some point), warmth and sun seem to make it worse. My thighs and scalp are so tender it hurts to touch. Inflammation markers have been up for 2 years but not enough to be a bacterial infection. I make sure I get enough elecrolytes and it makes the spasms a little better. For 2 years I've gotten worse and they still have no idea what's wrong.

It is caused by toxins in the environment that create mutations in the DNA. There must be a variety of them because we haven’t been able to isolate any one toxin. The only one we know is high dose radiation exposure
