Yes! This 6:47 minute video length is ideal. It means you are being concise, to the point, no drawn out mutter. This vid is what I’ll give my time to. If I see a 30 minute KZbin science lecture, I will pass on it.

Thanks guys, I have learned more from you two in the short time I have been watching you than the last 24 years of seeing my Nephrologist. I really think I need to change that guy out, he is a smart chemist, but I am totally in the dark with him.

This was a great video. It gives you time to focus on treating yourself to the key nutrients in which the doctor talks about. Instead of getting your parathyroid taken out surgically.

Debt explanation was awesome. You should do more videos pertaining to hyperparathyroidism with that doctor and getting more detail and explaining. I did hear of when you are also low in the mineral boron your parathyroid would be affected.

I was also hearing that taken vitamin K2 is something that a lot of folks are missing in their diet and how important it is. Vitamin K2 is responsible for pushing the calcium and regulating the calcium that is inside the bloodstream back to the bones.

The PTH is functioning on magnesium so magnesium is important

My sister had high calcium in blood, followed by high PTH of 324 & mibi scan showing parathyroid adenoma in right inferior gland. It's removed in December 2022 and PTH dropped on Christmas onwards.. but since surgery has excessive tingling and calcium supplements helped which stopped being effective since may 2023.. now Uric acid , vitamin D and gabapin NT combination helped but in June she suddenly got low TSH of 0.03 and high (free/total) T4/T3 for first time in life, with normal anti thyroid antibodies. Uric acid normal again in June though spike of 1.3 happened in may 2023. USG kidney is ok except post covid in 2022 july, UTI happened needing 8 days of hospital care in sept 22, then is when high calcium was first detected, same time transfusion of blood was done as haemoglobin dropped to 7 leading to cardiac excsessive breathlessness. Please guide as endocrinologist and general physician unable to solve but we keep shuttling between them

i have hereditary hyperparathyroid, developed gout in my twenties and have had muscle cramps since childhood that have steadily worsened with age. I'm confused about supplementing calcium to prevent bone leaching. I don't eat junk food, work on increasing fiber, mostly plants, a little fish now and again, eggs now and again. I take Mk-7 and vitamin D because I can feel occasional swelling in the kidney area. Recently I ran out of my usual magnesium, which helps with the cramping at night, and instead took a cal-mag. I had horrible muscle cramps that night. Does supplementary calcium exacerbate the cramping? Or does it help keep calcium in the blood so it isn't leached from my bones? I'm an older adult so it is a growing concern. thank you so much! I've been looking and looking for a trusted source to guide me through this mess. Much appreciated!

I have on parathyroid that just a tiny bit larger because I became Vitamin D resistant when doc put me on prescription D 2 for 2 years, so he started me on Calcitriol 1 year ago. I’m seeing a new Doc and getting blood work next month. My question why am I vitamin D resistant? I never get out in the sun since locked down from Covid virus in the country. Also from Oct.- April everyday is dark cloudy cold and days shortened in the north

What if you have good calcium levels but low IPTH. What supplement or steps are needed to increase the IPTH?

Hello I'm stage 3 with no food restrictions. I have been taking a high quality whey protien powder as I was not getting enough protein.. my protein daily intake is between 45 to 55 grams. Is it OK for me to use the protein powder
@PlantBasedKidneyHealth
@PlantBasedKidneyHealth Жыл бұрын
We generally like people to get protein from whole food sources vs concentrated, processed powders. Especially since excessive protein intake is much more likely with powders. Though everyone has different needs and we would recommend you check with your nephrologist and renal dietitian so they can evaluate your diet intake and how you're meeting your individual nutrient needs!
