Who knows? My daughter is 7. If I try any formal hypnosis on her, she just plays along consciously. When I do what I call 'falling down magic' (where I gently knock her over with an 'invisible force') she experiences it fully. It's all still just hypnosis/suggestion. The key with kids (and anyone for that matter) is how you connect with their imagination. All the very best James

I love rapid inductions! Why are so many hypnotherapists relying purely on extensive progressive relaxation inductions that eat into their valuable therapy time?!
@Garganzuul8 жыл бұрын
I did this to a friend once, completely by accident. He was being agitated and I was annoyed at how he always kept one of his shoulders hunched when he acted like that. I thought that instead of explaining psychosomatic things to him, I'd help him relax his shoulder. - Work his shoulder blade to unlock it. - As soon as I take his hand and grab his shoulder to feel where he's holding on, his eyes close and he nods off. He's gone for 5 to 10 seconds and I'm mightily confused. I did suspect that I had hypnotized him, but was too embarrassed to say anything. After all a girl had laughed at what just happened. Glad to learn more. I still wonder how to work out these 'catalepsies', without distractions. As soon as he came back his shoulder went back into hunched-mode and so did his character.

Hi Dylan, I was wondering if you learned just by watching these videos and how long it took you to actually hypnotize someone... I am a little bit skeptical.
@dylanlovegrove36097 жыл бұрын
Angel picasso jr Hi Angel, I first learned bits and pieces from my fiancee as she has been studying hypnosis for a few years ! but I watched James video over and over word for word and basically modeled him! my fiancee is very susceptible so I knew it just needed the right approach! a month later I booked a course in London and never looked back ;-) hypnosis is very real but everyone has different susceptibility levels and so all experiences are different from person to person tho if you look deeper into hypnosis you will discover how beneficial it can be if used correctly. hope this helped.

Hi Anubhav. The important thing is that they are responding fluidly to you directions and suggestions. If you move them, they should move smoothly and without resistance. If you say "can I borrow that hand" and reach for it, it should come smoothly to meet you. Fluid response is key! Hope that helps! James.

How much warmup does this require? I find it hard to believe that you can just take somebody who's had no conditioning and drop them into a trance by pulling their arm.
@SuperiorityQomplex5 жыл бұрын
You can literally walk up to people and do the induction. There is actually a guy who has some old vids doing 'Hypno-Sculture' on youtube where he walks up to randoms and asks them for directions. He then shakes their hands to thank them and put them in trance. He then poses them into statues and then walks away to see how long they stay in that trance position before waking up and carrying on with their day. Now bear in mind, THIS IS ILLEGAL and could be interpreted as assault. It breaks the rules of any ethical hypnotist out there. If you need to satisfy a curiosity, go look up his vids, see that it works, get on with your life. Don't become a criminal just to see if it works. It does. If you want to do some handshake inductions, GET PERMISSION first.

Your work is fantastic, in my opinion. So what I do to experiment from time to time, I go up to a random stranger, no talking about me being a hypnotist, only "Hi, I'm Cody" and I extend for a handshake. When they extend, I interrupt, bringing the hand to the face very quickly (not aggressive) and say "Sleep!". After this I do a deepener (one, barely), get them to focus on my voice, and let their own inner voice fade, and sometimes a super suggestion. This works 8-9 times out of 10 attempts.
@TheTrippnotist11 жыл бұрын
Hi Anabhav. Having him focus is all part of building a response set (cuts out eye accessing and attenuates client lead cognitions). There are no signs of being in hypnosis because there is NO special state called hypnosis - hypnosis is happening as soon as the client begins responding fluidly to directions and suggestions. Please do see 'Hypnosis Beyond the Trance Myth' available free from the 'Hypnosis Without Trance' website!

She was very excited and REALLY wanted it to work. I did the pretalk and got rid of all her fear and when I did the induction (arm pull) she very clearly pretended to be in trance and was not relaxed at all. @TheTrippnotist11 жыл бұрын
That might happen! So deal with it! And be OK with it To be a great hypnotist you need to cultivate a great relationship with failure. Why? Because failure is a key mechanism of learning - no failure, no learning. As in hypnosis this is also true in life - the only way to win is to be willing to lose, because if you aren't willing to lose, you can't even play the game.

Just understand the experience and behaviours you want to draw the person into, the just lead them there with awareness and certainty. People are in one kind of trance or another all the time, so hypnosis doesn't 'put people into trance' - it is the artful leading of people into different trances. So, here we lead the person to a particular state, and wherever we want them to go next is where we continue to lead.

experts says, you will always wake up at one point, maybe you will fall in sleep and wake up later. but, if someone gives you all the time commands, who knows. someone with bad intentions you usually don't know the hypnotist very well, you could do a lot. i mean with put triggers you could get easily hypnotised again or also dangeours at the right time you have to perform a order that you got in the hypnosis session.

yes. (and I bet ten thousand people have done it too over the last 50 years) a handshake or arm pull (still a handshake) or any physical behaviour that make a subject begin an "expected" sequence that is then become unfamiliar/unexpected allows for a hypnotist to use that moment of confusion to re direct the subjects attention towards their suggestions and often verbal trance inducing language patterns. these videos are selling views by focusing on the Gimmick (the sizzle) than the skill of hypnosis. when they sell RAPID induction they are tricking people into thinking that other inductions are slow. a verbal induction can begin well with one sentence or even one word well timed and placed.
