Hey, I am Makrennel from Github. While updating hyprland to v0.40.0 I went ahead and changed pkg-config to pkgconf in the hostmakedepends, and it seems to have fixed it? Either way, thanks for making this video, this issue has had me scratching my head for months as it seemed hyprpm just wouldn't work on most distros unless built manually from source. The instructions are convoluted as heck, partially because I want to avoid just telling everyone to reclone and binary-bootstrap void-packages over and over, but I do have that under the "notes on updating" - it's a bit of a waste of bandwidth. I'm probably going to try and get away from using the whole laundry list of instructions, and try and either use a script, or even better a remote build action.

I find it hard to recommend Hyprland outside Arch and Nix as it is completely unsupported

I don't think I have ever actually recommended hyprland, I have videos about it obviously but I have yet to recommend it as a daily
