I just replaced my pad, thank you. some tips for others: - this took a WHILE. like an hour because it was so difficult refit the plastic retainer. the little clips are mushroom shaped, so I filed them down into normal pegs and they fitted a bit easier. press down as hard as you can in the same place as the pegs - put the silver frame bit in first, it's too fiddly to try and hold all 3 pieces together. - removing the plastic retainer is also difficult, mine also snapped, but it shouldn't matter. do be as careful as you can!

Worked great! With a small hook tool this could possibly be fit to the retainer without removing the retainer but I removed mine since I didn’t read the comments first. Due to the mushrooming of the retainer pins, I used a small nail file to file the pins to be straighter. With firm pressure the retainer popped back in with a tight pop back into place.

Dont remove the retainer. Contrary to this video. It is NOT EASY to put it back.

Do remove it, it's the best way to do a proper repair.

You have to remove it or else the new pad will not fit, I had a hell of a game trying to fit the new keypad until I watched this video and when I removed the retainer and refitted it following this video it fitted straight away

Retainer is melted together from inside of casing if you remove it, it breaks I removed the lugs and glued with impact adhesive it went together well but be careful with the retainer

Getting the retainer off was bloody tricky, and now I can't get it back on, so I too would advise strong caution in that step.

I squeezed the pins on the retainer with some plyers. That way they are narrower at the tip and then fit better. It still needed some strength to push the retainer back in.

You can order it on Amazon! I just bought was for $10. And then you can just use the rubber instead of the whole fob

I find the new pad has no way of attaching to the retainer, guess I bought cheap and nasty ones. Will have to glue it

"Place retainer in new pad" is a $75 service call avoidance play every time. This is was a total day saver.

If you don't glue that rubber pad it will come right off.
