I like Kia and Hyundai, my ice is a Sorento, previous was a Santa Fe... But if you buy this over a byd dolphin (the wife's car) you are absolutely crazy.

Does the Hyundai Inster come with V2G capability?
@Drivecomau5 күн бұрын
It looks like the Inster won't be V2G compatible, but overseas versions have V2L capability. We'd expect the Australian version to offer this, but will know more closer to the local launch.

If and when these electric cars are priced at around 15k-25k tops for such small vehicles and small range capability then one could consider getting one...who in their right mind would spend around 40k to get you under 300km up the road.

If its price was 35k, it could make more sense.

I think the price is too high.

Absolutely. Needs to compete with the MG4 at around 30-32k IMO.

USD 30,000 that's why.

Price is way too high for the Hyundai Inster. The MG4 51kw Excite has about 50% more power, more range, more space and slightly faster charging speed. It starts at $41,134 prior to current discounts. If the Inster starts at $40k it will be dead in the water. The top model needs to be no more than $35k to even have a chance.

if this pricing with this size is how a electric car's current bottom line of affordibility, maybe it's better to turn around and buy the other japanese hybrids?

Nice overview. Great overall package. Price is a hard sell, for compact EV. Europe has similar pricing. Even to other cimpact EVs the Inster pricing is far too high. In Europe even a second hand first or second gen Hyundai kona or Kia noro is often cheaper, which makes the Inster pricing for a prospective buyer a tough sell. Better for Hyundai ro make only one teim 49 kwh fully loaded with only options for interior/exterior color choice and a few accessories. All else the pricing is a tough business case for otherwise a great compact and very practicle EV.

Everything about this is fantastic except that it's barely faster than a decent e-bike. Electric cars simply don't need to be this pathetically slow, and it really defeats the point of a small city car that can be agile and quick in traffic. Pity because they nailed the styling, and the interior really lets the driver and passengers make the most of the space inside. For the 'States where I live this is honestly too small for mainstream buyers - but if they gave the next gen Soul this treatment I think they'd have a hit.

Too expensive for what is truly through and through a really cheap car. That interior is nasty as hell and looks 1990s

It looks a bit like revamped Hyundai Venue. Im looking for an all electric vehicle next year but at 40k i have other options available to me for less and failing that theres a plethora of similar size hybrids around and small petrols around again for less coin 👛🪙
