If you are charging in AC the car could direclty route with a relay the incoming AC supply to the outlet, doesn't make sense to convert AC -> DC -> AC. So it doesn't make sense to use the OBC to power the outlet. Also when charging in DC you dont'use the OBC for charging, so in DC you could use the OBC. In that way you have alway power in the outlet

How long does it take, to charge from ~20% to 80%? Hyundai advertises it would take 18 minutes with a 350-kW fast charge. What is your real-world experience with the charging times? The quick charge time is one of the main reasons why I’m interested in this vehicle. But from watching your videos, it seems like the batteries get hot and that makes it take longer to charge. I don’t know much about all the electrical terms-and I don’t want to have to learn all that. I just want to plug-n-go. You’re very knowledgeable. I couldn’t figure out why it seemed to often take longer to charge the IONIQ 5 when you were charging it. It seems like hot batteries would be a constant variable, and that the charge would always take longer. I was just surprised that the battery wasn’t charging as fast as it could or should. I’m mainly curious how fast the vehicle would take to charge if the vehicle had this kind of scenario: had 3 people in the vehicle; drove to 20% battery; Charge up; Drive to 20% range and charge again. All in the same day. I’m trying to figure out if the amount of passengers in the car-obviously reducing the range you could drive-if that would affect the battery from being charged fast.

12:10 Mr. Bjron, will the power losses on the 400V load be caused by the necessary 600-700V conversion? The reason is that when you do not have to raise the voltage (for example in Ionity) there are no power losses, they are the same in the charger and in the OBD.

Very silly feature. Many times you want to start the car to use infotainment before you set off to drive.
@patrick719943 жыл бұрын
@@bjornnyland I agree, but you can set the infotainment with the seatbelt on. Or just treat it like a reminder. I don't like the beeps, but I'm already used to putting on the seatbelt first, then start te car. Annoying at first, but the car gave me good habits. I have also a non-electric car. When I don't press the clutch when pressing the start-button, only the infotainment will turn on without the beeps. The beeps are only there when the engine is running and it is ready to go. So I can set the infotainment without it beeping at me. And I save a little bit fuel with it. Maybe you can get the same: press start without pressing the brake. Air circulation only turns on before tunnels
@nordlands87983 жыл бұрын
This means cabin air recirculation, intakes are usually under the aft part of the hood. The front flaps are only used for heat exchangers. The Ioniq 5 has several automatic settings for recirculation, this was probably "activate based on external dust", and there are also settings to activate when you use windshield washer fluid and when going through tunnels.
@namanverdu3 жыл бұрын
@@nordlands8798 Ah right. Just wondering why it enabled the cabin air circulation on that exact moment. Probably something like dust yeah but then, why didn’t the car do that automatically when he drove behind the Diesel truck in the other (asmr) video. Björn had to manually enable it.

The battery's thermal management system's heat exchange fluid temperature when it passes through the inlet to enter the battery pack is the inlet temperature.
