Great work as always. Good idea using the remote mic to help diagnose the fault. Bet you saved the cabby a fortune and got them back on the road asap. Thanks for taking the time to film and share. All the best Pete 👍

Thanks Pete, the cabby was very happy probably around £400 saved , hopefully aftermarket companies will get their act together and start manufacturing some cv joint for the Ionic soon 👍

I've had exactly the same noise on my ionic,,it started at around the 60k mark, checked and swung on everything, ended up checking the nuts for the drive shaft,,got a quarter of a turn out of it.. cured it.. not heard a peep since,,welm appart from the opposite side starting with same noise. Did same with that, re-tightened quarter of a turn and alls good. Just got a noise on the o/s/f now but more like a dry bush or something,not the same as before.

It’s been 3 months now. How did that quarter turn work out? Is it still quiet or did it start to make the noises again? Asking for myself because mines doing it now too. 🤦♀️
@jase4929 Жыл бұрын
It seems to be holding up fine, done some serious millage in it and as yet not had so much as a peep out of it.
@amindyourbiz Жыл бұрын
@@jase4929 thanks. Same here. I’ve put on 32kmiles since August. Definitely worth a shot to tighten it first to see if that works first.

Had the same problem I did what you said and it's sorted it out thanks to your advice ❤

New fault now that's not so easily or cheap to sort. Developed a coolant leak on the exhaust,,yes you herd right the exhaust. There is a heat exchange on the 2ndary cat that has sprung a leak after the winter months. Looking at about a grand or so just for the part. That's not including fitting or antifreeze to top it back up with

So what needed replacing to fix the issue. Drive Shaft for both sides? Or just the CV joints?
@hybridsolutiondiagnostics2 жыл бұрын
Very nice video... indeed the ioniq's front CV joints are all going bad eventualy and has been a common issue lately ☝️😖

Good to know Jose , I think I finally found a supplier for the Ionic Cv Joints has been tricky to get parts here in the UK 👍

@@zubairsiddiqui9177 better to replace as you get a chance… most of them fail at some mileage

Good video! it makes a similar sound to me, but it's an electric ioniq. If i accelerate, the clicking gets louder, if I take off the gas, it's quiet, I keep the speed and it clicks. I hope that this can also be a driveshaft fault.

Skoda Octavia mk2 1.9tdi when engine temperature 90c warm car stalling and cool down long crank start no dtc code please help me

Difficult to know without looking at the car but heat soak seems to be the problem perhaps a crank sensor failing but difficult to say without testing it

The PD can suffer this if the torsion value is off on the timing. When was the timing belt changed? Has the timing been checked against vcds?
@Automotive_Solutions2 жыл бұрын
nice, bet that shaft assembly from Hyundai is a few quid 🤔
@CarsExposed2 жыл бұрын
Hello mate , around £600 if I’m not mistaking , unfortunately no one is selling the cv joint or driveshaft aftermarket, I think Luke paid around £200 for the second hand one 👍
