Best in this class. Bought my Kona Limited 5 days ago and I'm really happy I did. Tested the rest in class vehicles and this blows them away in performance, features, style(subjective) and price!!! This is a mean little SUV in all respects. The dual clutch 7 speed rocks!

The author should first try the acceleration on chr, then the back seat room in cx3, then the quality on cactus, then how much options for the same price you get in renegade, evoque, troc, karoq and after that have a fair conclusion on this car. It doesn't have to be perfect it just has to be better than its competitors.

Electric version of this being released in South Korea soon with big battery option of 64kWh so around 300 odd mile range. Wud like one of those with the Kona Ironman bodykit they launched it with. Any word Bob from Hyundai about Irish release date of electric version?

The transmission is a smart transmission. It learns how you drive. After a couple months its amazing. You also need to let the engine break in. The same engine in a tuscon does 0-60 in 7.2. This one should be around 6.5 once broken in.

Sound quality is poor, can’t really understand what the hell is going on. Occasional shouting at the car and it’s speed, doesn’t help either. Poor Review!

I dont get the FWD one. Id get an Elantra with 201 hp and 6spd if I didn't need AWD. I think it looks nice design wise but Im not sure I understand who wants the front driver. Ive driven an Elantra Sport 6spd in the U.S. and its an AMAZING VALUE for a pretty fun cheap car. Mpgs arent the best but it is alot of car for a little over 20k american. I wish the GT or what you guys call the I30 had the elantra interior and they didnt upcharge for the hatch. The elantra sport shocked me how fun it was with a 6 spd for a budget car, especially that Hyundai runs the best incentive programs herr in the states making them incredible value propositions. I guess this little SUV is just so hyundai has a product to offer people who like little suv's. It looks cool to me and the awd one might be fun rallying around in snow but doesnt give me a boner.

It's a strange car. Far too expensive this one, given its lack of the dual zone, active cc, and there seems a lot of cheap looking plastic. I bet more is missing too. It looks very C-HR to me, and the lights look like you about to do a WRC night stage. Though none of the exterior looks offends me. But suspect they will get old relatively fast If I was in the market for small SUV, (hatchback on stilts), id get the diesel 3008 GT Line (not the top spec GT). About the same price as this, slightly cheaper I think, but looks,nd I bet feel, a million dollars better.Also, I think their look will hold up in 7 years time. Problem with the 3008 is that they are gonna be common as muck within 24 months.

Seán O'Nilbud that's not true, well not in the UK, however it does not matter, and id rather you did need to turn left indicator on , after you pass the previous left turn off. It doesn't hurt, and it lets others know exactly what your wanting to do. I find a lot of older, not old, older drivers have little idea how they are meant to be used. So keeping back, don't try and anticipate others, and use your blinkers to let others know your intentions. Funny quirk of UK driving regs is if there is no other cars on the road, and you approach a round about and indicate (as one should by rote), they will get a minor offence noted on your test score card. Totally bananas.

It is true. You don’t indicate when you approach the roundabout but once you’re on the roundabout and you pass the turning before your exit, you indicate. That is courteous to the car leaving the exit you are taking. So to say you don’t indicate at all is wrong and also inconsiderate to everyone around you and on coming traffic. As an advanced driver you would potentially fail your test if you didn’t indicate before leaving the roundabout OR any deviation in direction. Basics!!!!

Lee Hawkins that's actually dependent on which exit your taking. If it's the first exit, you would signal left on approach. If second exit no indication is needed at all. Thou I do for the reasons you outline above. Any exit after the second, you'll signal right, until you pass the previous exit/entrance then signal left. It's all very basic ad you say. Although there is one big disclaimer to all of the above, not makes zero sense however, if there is no other cars present, you shouldn't signal at all. I got a minor on my test in the 90s, and just this I asked my girl who is currant learning about the rule, and the instructor said yes that's the rule, but one she should only do if on a test, then forget it. There is probably some old reason for this, but for the life of me I've never discoverd what. Apart from on my test when I questioned this the examiner said "because you're meant to be fully aware of who is around you, you should know if no one is there, so no need to signal" there is some truth in that, but id much prefer to do the signalling at all times. It's just much safer for all, if you signal your intent always. Let others know what your wanting to do. If you start selecting when and when not to signal, the probability of you not signaling when you should, has to be far greater.

You should only indicate when there is somebody else around who would benefit from your doing so. Otherwise, straight-on requires no indication but it may be helpful to other road users if you do.

Great review, thanks, Bob. Good to see remarks on the mileage - can't believe how bad that is. And the road noise. Similarity I can't believe how many car reviews on KZbin always fail to cover that - as well as comfort/suspension. I was considering waiting on one of these - I'm across the pond in the colonies, Canada, eh, wot? - but I think I'll likely end up going with the Kia Niro instead. I'd love a Stonic but oddly they don't intend to sell them here, sigh.
