Most people in Europe speak English. It's a lot less uncommon than you think :) i only know 1 person my age who has absolutely no English skills :) but I also went to a higher level school (one where you graduate after 12 yrs instead of 9/10 and therefore are able to go to college. Roughly 50% of students go there. Middle level (graduate after grade 10) school has pretty decent English classes as well. And lower level school (graduate after grade 9 (or sometimes 8) still have English classes, just at a lower level. Everyone has to learn English

I once had a scary moment like that. I was walking in a parking lit and I saw a car with it's lights on. I decided to walk on the opposite side where the other cars were so it wouldn't back into me. I was walking on the other side browsing Facebook on my phone, when suddenly, the driver then got suspicious, drove over to me and asked me questions like, "Why did you cross to the other side? What were you doing in your phone? Why were you on Facebook?" The worst part is when I tried to cross the street, the car drove a bit in front of me to block my path. Luckily, it drove away. I walked into Dave & Busters freaking out. I spoke to a security guard, told him what happened and gave a description of the men who asked me questions. The men did not show up and I was safe. There's a chance that those men were drug dealers and they got suspicious of me.
