I was passing through the area and saw the line and asked someone what was the line for, they said Lecrae - I had never heard of you at that time, the show was sold out and someone in the line yelled out "you want to go.... I have an extra ticket" and he "GAVE" it to me, so I said ok God let me see what you are trying to tell me. I had my security park my car and I went in the building. When I tell you that God was in control of that place, you better believe it. The ENTIRE audience was on their feet praising God and it was the fly-est experience I have ever had giving God the Glory. The one thing that always kept me supporting Lecrae was his transparency and honesty. The one constant is that God has consistently used his music and voice in my life ever since I’ve became a believer and I wouldn’t be as firm if I didn’t have a soundtrack of great music, albums, and mixtapes. Including the artist like KB AND ANDY MINEO, 1K. That took me away from artist like lil Wayne and Cassidy. He’s my GOAT because he makes great music that points to the Lamb that was slaughtered. One key thing you said is “you didn’t want this”…so maybe doing like J Cole and not even putting your name into voting race for the Grammy would’ve been the thing to do. You did say, “I’m doing this for my daughter”. The Grammy can be a field trip without a nomination. Operating in the gift and using music as a tool is still great. Whether people realize it or not, doing God’s work does not require us to be recognized for anything especially with a “golden image” called an “award”. While you were on that stage, the gospel of Jesus could have also been shared. It seems nowadays, being acknowledged is becoming the norm.
