That cat should accompany you in your car reviews. Its pretty biased since it prefers land cruisers

Howdy Ben, I for one think you are all over it with this new series and approach. I sold a Gladiator that was loaded with aftermarket goodies, so many that I didn’t off-road it for concern of damaging my investment. Looking forward to seeing this next series you referenced!

The only reason to lift it is larger tires and with a 2” lift and some +25 offset wheels you can fit 35/12.5 tires without having to chop stuff. We take ours off grid every other weekend and it does make it more capable and when your there swap the gears they are under geared from the factory because they were set up for the diesel engine we didn’t get here, since mine is the early 200 with the 6 speed I got 3.90 gears vs the tundra got 4.30s so with the 35s I swapped to 4.88s and it’s been amazing. It’s not my daily driver. Yours looks nice and good for you promoting camping. I went Baja boss AT for tires they do better in bad weather.

From the moment that cat appeared, I think us cat owners knew he’d eventually end up on top of the tire 😂

Agreed on the overlanding overkill. Too many people equate rock crawling capabilities with off road travel. Theres also the intense marketing effort that convinces people that overlanding is about replicating all the comforts of home on the trail which terminally results in an off road trailer to schlep all their gear. My 200 series with upgraded tires is astonishingly capable. It can take me though terrain that is well beyond what I’m comfortable doing and want to do.

Yakima makes a spare tire mount for their racks. Much more secure than a strap. Just an fyi. I used to have one.

I like the pivot but would suggest that you do a bit of both...2 different audiences. Appreciate the perspective on simple overlanding....I personally hate the over hyped commercial stuff where all you need is decent tires with a bit of ground clearance and a couple hundred $$$ of tent + cooking stuff...the idea is to get out and disconnect.

I’ll one up you - 2006 Land Rover LR3 HSE V8 for 6750 with Goodyear wrangler duratracs. $6750 total. It’s the perfect affordable overlander

Always easier (less painful) to offroad a loaner than your personal As someone who spends 75% of my working day offroad in a vehicle (which is my office) I don’t understand the need to camp in your vehicle… I’d rather hit some trails in the AM & stay in a 5 ⭐️ room

Another Utah Mall crawler that is bought not built. Spare tire on the roof is a dead give away to a non off roader. Glad you finally got out of Urban area and out to Suburbia with some room. This is not a affordable overland build. Get a Jeep XJ or WJ and few vehicle will keep up with you and under 5K or about the price of your wrap.

Great advice if you want to offroad at 10mph or less. Buy a Raptor and dominate planet Earth. Don't settle.... if you're broke work harder and smarter

It’s cool but way too numb and boring for me. At this point from my comments if anyone has noticed I like to have fun and I like fun cars/trucks. $3500 bucks into a bronco Raptor and Jeep 392 and your sitting on 38 inch tires new exhaust and maybe a new drag link and tie rod. Little unrelated I suppose from me but God I could never drive something so lifeless
