Locutus has been playing the long game in infiltrating the Federation and preparing them for assimilation.

I think of this scene every single time I see Hugh from Star Trek. I watch What's Up, Doc? about once a year. Such great comedy.

The whole idea of infecting the Borg with Hugh's individuality could have gone wrong. "WE ARE HUGH. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE. YOUR BIOLOGICAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL DISTINCTIVENESS SHALL BECOME PART OF THE HUGH COLLECTIVE."

Yes, instead they did "Descent", which is the worst two-parter in TNG, in my view.

The cue that comes after "I am Hugh" is so chilling because it was a product of a time when the Borg were truly frightening enemies

Yeah, the time before "Descent", which may actually be the worst TNG episode ever.

@FalconNest2 жыл бұрын
@@robjackson5245 Agreed! I've got to admit I don't consider First Contact and the other TNG movies as "canon" :D Their plot is just so dumb! I had a tough time with Voyager too, because it's basically Borg-porn from season 4 on. As with all scary things, the more you show them and talk about them, the less scary they become.
@robjackson52452 жыл бұрын
@@FalconNest "First Contact" is still better than the other so-called "TNG" movies. "Generations" I usually skip like I do the episode "Relics" because both have the racist "TOS" crap, and the other movies were scored by Jerry Goldsmith, a codeless asshole. "FC" was scored by his son. "Star Trek" is the only franchise where I don't like the movies for the most part.

I consider the entire Picard series to be non-canon, or, at best, alternative universe. Why? "You have to use your imagination" to make the magic doohicky work?... My fat hairy ass! That just ain't Star Trek.

@@robjackson5245 That doesn't make sense at all. In TNG, they are already assimilating others all the time. Also, lots of humanoids in Star Trek look so similar to humans, we couldn't tell after assimilation. We don't even know if Hugh is a human.

WWOR (later UPN 9) in New York, son. This show slayed. But this felt more like a syndicated cable show and so did "DS9." It's not TV, it's "Star Trek" cause HBO is wack. Like this could have been on some special Trek syndicated network Nevertheless too gangsta for a wack non-Warner Bros.-ass network like The WB.
