Hello Cammy, I would not start making tables for a side living but, the table you have made is it looks good shoes are friendly. It’s got a bottom shelf. With a little bit of work you could get a third shelf and like barely 5 inches below the top so that you can keep your computer there or just your keyboard in your mouse, maybe paperwork and everything can sit there. I am glad to see that the lambing is starting to come to the end which I’ll let you guys sleep a whole night soon hopefully.

We mostly have Jackdaw crows here but have heard of the odd Raven getting eyes pecked out of fully grown sheep yet alone lambs. They can be something of a pest but not much can do about them. They’re also extremely smart so they catch on quick to any preventative measures to try and scare them off.
@RICDirector Жыл бұрын
They DO learn, though, so if you can make deterrents not connected to humans, and be persistent, they may just avoid the area entirely.
@w056007568 Жыл бұрын
The bird pest we really have trouble with in East Anglia nowadays are magpie's particularly now they have learnt to hunt in groups. Is it any wonder that there is a near complete dearth of common hedge sparrows and other similar small birds? We have also noticed a big jump in the numbers of Jackdaws over past 3-4 years.
@gilliantovey1014 Жыл бұрын
@@w056007568 magpies are such clever birds and they learn very quickly. They totally harass the smaller birds round the feeders. I couldn’t work out how they were emptying a squirrel and large bird proof feeder, until I caught one in the act. It had worked out a way of bracing itself and pushing open the special closing system and gobbling all the seed. Solved it for now by cutting a plastic bottle to fit over the grid part of the feeder so it can’t get a grip. I’ve the horrible feeling it will work out a way to get at the seed.

In a Australia, we have problems with crows they get the eyes out of the lambs when they are born we have big problems with them here in Australia it is not nice to see lambs sitting on the trees with no eyes and still alive sometimes and sometimes we see them with their stomachs hanging out of them when I have picked them around the building called area

You might try creating habitat for some prey that ravens prefer to lambs. I think most of us agree that lamb is delicious, but maybe fieldmice taste better to ravens.

I would suggest another brace piece to be added to the table in the middle going from front to back just for added stability and strength and to help prevent bowing in the middlemost part of the table.

Like I love ravens, they're smart, and beautiful, but as you say nature is cruel. The birds are just doing what their instincts tell them to do, but poor wee lambs & cowped sheep end up being pecked at. In Wales & Scotland, not sure about England, you can apply for a licence to shoot ravens if they're causing problems. They're protected as they were almost wiped out in parts of the UK, as they would be shot on sight regardless of whether they were a problem or not. Now the population is more stable, it's probably worth reviewing their status, but it's no good if the same thing just happens again, and we keep going through cycles of "almost extinct" to "nuisance" and back again.

They didn't teach you woodwork at the police college. You can march in time, and put handcuffs on though. Maybe that helps in sheep farming somehow...film it if you ever march in time with Marissa and Lizzy. The quad and triple lambs look to be thriving but I know you have to put out reassuring words to catch the 'over caring nutty watchers' as I call the ones who doubt you.
