I just came across this video and was amazed at how quickly he put the arrangements together. He then handed the microphone off and cut back to the single beat. I am not sure where in my heart it came from but the tears started flowing. I'm 59, was a Alaska commercial fishermen for many years, work in construction, and hunt. A guys guy. Maybe the War in Ukraine that just started has something to do with them(tears). I remember this happening only one other time years ago by husband and wife street musicians. Boy, does music move. I disagree. He deserves at least 95% of the credit. Without the musical talent and skill of the musician, the vocalist would never have been heard. I get tired of the vocalist always getting all, or most, of the credit and the ones that worked their asses of to master their instruments being left behind. Me? I'm a singer, but also one that knows music and instrumentalists very, very well as I have been in the business since the mid 70's. I retired in March after a year of waiting for things to open up after Covid put us out of work. At least you did credit the musician, which very few seem to do these days, and for that I am grateful.

Wow! This takes a classic to another level and modernizes it. They both crushed it. There are more great artists out there today than ever before. Just because you don't hear them on the radio everyday doesn't mean they aren't out there. Without the internet, you wouldn't know about stuff like this.

@@spartan11mcxbox because if you play and sing yourself you'd know that this isn't in anyway shape or form just been suddenly done, I know this song like the back of my hand and it wasn't the original score, there was too much variation in key, no way can you sing that unless you knew it already, it was definitely staged

Wow. Everyone expects people to just start out like the original which is stupid. She (and him) made it their own. She did it her way. Very very good and authentic. And the way he put everything together for her shows he knew how to capture her voice and the way she uses it. I loved it. And she's beautiful

Steve Perry's vocals are so difficult to do well, especially this song. She did an amazing job. The talent of the guy to create BG beats that quickly and synth it all is crazy. And that solo riff towards the end....👍👍👍

I think he started playing guitar 🎸 in his mother's womb. He is so gifted. Many people practiced for hours for a long time but it takes talent on another level to be so multi talented. Love his looping.
