@@A.A.A1477I am an adult who had serious depressed phases as a kid and i’m still something working on them even today (i’m going to be 20 soon). I wish I could’ve gotten therapy at this age because it’s better to act fast so it doesn’t develop even worse over age, but unfortunately people don’t take mental illness in kids seriously, when they do exist. If a kid says this we should go talk to them to really know what’s behind that, maybe they were just being edgy, but maybe there’s more to it, maybe it’s their way of coping, we never know but what we know is that mental illness can show up in every ages, every person.

4:09 I’ve met the 44 year old before. I was on a trip with a youth group and we were kind of in a hurry but I played a minute bullet game of chess with him in Washington Square Park. Thought he looked familiar but it is definitely him because my group got pictures and he has the same glasses, bag, chess clock, chess pieces, and the white and red jar that is mostly cut off screen is a donation bin for kids with autism that he also had when I played him. He was a great guy, really nice and friendly. Playing him was my favorite and most memorable part of the trip.

Bruh y'all ain't even really started in life yet. At least not as an adult yet. And something to take from aging is that every moment is precious. Not saying you have to go seize the moment and go skydiving or whatever, just learn to appreciate the variety of life. It doesn't have to feel like a grand adventure every day. That's why people meditate, so they can learn to not only enjoy silence and practicing emptying their minds, but also find inner peace in it. It almost makes things feel like they did when you were a child. Like everything is fresh because you're choosing to see it that way. Take pictures of random things and in 10 years those pictures will have immense meaning to you. Everything you do now doesn't feel like the correct thing to do because there is no correct or incorrect. There's only reality and reality is a very weird thing because technically as each second passes that is a new experience for not just you but everyone and everything that ever has or ever will exist. Don't let the state of the world or the state of your mental shape the way you see everything, that's your eyes job. ❤ I hope this all made sense. If it doesn't take some mushrooms and read it again 😂 much love ✌️

Secondary many of the ones that had the worst life’s already died leaving the ones that had better lifes being alive and being able to be interviewed. Yeah, agree with Mr Gloomy up there. The depressing conclusion about human nature is we don't want to feel bad about ourselves, or ruminate too much on our screw ups, so the older we get, we either choose to forget messed up things we did, or pretend like "I learned from all of it!" because we want to believe we're good people. Really though, in all likelihood you're just excusing yourself to make your mental load easier. Seems complacent, but then again I can't see the opposite extreme of ruminating constantly on screw ups being too helpful. I feel a certain cynicism towards some of the people in this video who claim to have no regrets or painting this rainbows and unicorns picture of their mistakes. Feels like that movie "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". There is a purpose to feeling guilt and regret and knowing what a F up you were / are.
@xavier7858
@xavier7858 Ай бұрын
@@L_MartinI think that making the mental load easier isn’t a bad thing though. The guy above who’s writing the Unhappiness Manifesto is probably far less satisfied than someone who has made peace with their past - and there’s nothing wrong with that, life isn’t long enough to spend time thinking about what could have been or what mistakes we’ve made. Everything is a learning experience, even if it seems small and we might not realise it. I’d say Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is exactly about this tbh. They decide to do it again in the end precisely because they won’t hold regrets about it this time. Even if it is painful and horrible in the end, it was worth it for the good memories. I think the movie wants us to accept the pain but hold no regrets about it, which is a good place to be.

@@yasininn76 I'm letting it sink in to get a better understanding of how being truthful and honest affects whether someone will have regrets. Obviously a single sentence is not going to fully describe the nature of what causes regrets in detail. What I'm getting out of it is that, if you are truthful and honest towards yourself, then you will have a better understanding of who you are, what you want and how to achieve the latter, and are therefore less likely to do things you are going to regret later. And my name is not Deborah.

I've found that the very first person you have to be honest and truthful to is yourself. This isn't about "telling the truth so I won't be found a liar" but more so understanding that there are things you enjoy, and that there are things that you do not want to be doing. Don't throw yourself away. And get off the train the moment you realize you don't want to be on that journey. "Don't just sit there and waste your precious time. When you want to do something, do it right away, do it when you can. It's the only way to live life without regret." I have that quote on the back of my phone hehe. Relevant to the video I guess but I'm 22. Happiness might end but I suppose that's when you get out and find a new dream. Never stop living life to the fullest for sure. As for me, I want to see a miracle in my life. But waiting for a shooting star is mid, I shall be that shooting star myself.
@spOOkytimes

So true. Starting out, it's hard to be authentic because you are just trying to get by and learn about yourself. But as you age, it's really important to be honest and accepting about who you are while not being afraid to to improve things about yourself and change here and there. Confidence, but not arrogance.

My biggest regret in life: not being able to handle myself. Especially when I was young my emotions could definitely get control over me rather than my brain. Had some bad anger issues and was very frightful and would let things said to me sit with me for days, months, years, even till right now I’m realizing. It’s a delicate, delicate balance between being too emotional and too jaded. Instead of finding a happy medium I just seem to flip flop between the two from time to time. One of my biggest regrets was when I was 11. I had a huge falling out with my mom, I sweared at her, talked trash about her, and was generally pretty distant if we weren't arguing. I was always the one that initiated the arguments, and she was so, so stressed throughout that entire period. It lasted throughout the entirety of 5th grade. Nothing I ever say or do will express how sorry I am and how thankful I am that she is my mother. She mostly bought me everything I wanted, and was and still is always caring and kind. I was never spanked or hit by her, either.

Haha I’m only 16 and I’m already regretting it XD it really messed up my mental health and partially my physical health too. My current mental state is indicative of the way I have been chronically online throughout my developing years, I was practically raised by the internet and now I’m trying to distance myself from it, like a loving to abusive parent. I’ve spent so many days and nights of my youth in this digital world.
@mrlaser7580
@mrlaser7580 2 ай бұрын
@Sijinx I'm 16 and spent a lot of time online in my childhood, and I still do. However, I don't nessasarily see it as a bad thing, for the most part I've shifted from watching KZbin and anime to reading light novels and non-fictional. The really important thing is that I now have someone thing I'm passionate about (philosophy) as well as making sure I genuinely enjoy my time reading light novels, wheras, when I first got into them it was more for a lack of something better to do. Just make sure that it isn't preventing you from gaining more experience in life and your set. I'm personally lucky that I've lived such a varied life growing up, from public to private to homeschooling and then moving country and learning another language while attending school in Serbia. Anyway I'm a unique case so if you have a different idea for how you would prefer to live then go for it. I would probably recommend reading ethics of ambiguity if you get the chance since it's available online, it was the first philosophy book I read and has honestly helped me tremendously.
@ZeKermet
@ZeKermet 2 ай бұрын
@mrlaser7580 what a very unique experience As a recently turned 17 year old in the United States, there are definitely benefits and drawbacks to the internet. What you say is very true even to me, since I've used the internet to really broaden my views on a lot of things (like history, modern geopolitics, philosophy to a degree), and I've gained skills like video editing for my channel and coding that I'm sure will help in the future. However, spending this much time online made me feel like an outcast in my high school (a little less in my college experience) and I can't relate to anyone there since I'm genuinely not interested in what they talk about most of the times. Though I don't regret it, if I had used electronics less over the years, I would have had a bigger social circle since I would spend more time integrating myself to my school and participating in more events. However, due to my current interests from my electronic usage (not social media) rather than ones that would have been developed starting many years ago with a different life experience, I simply can't find others with similar core values and interests.

I’m 22 and I’m going to graduate college in the upcoming spring. I regret wasting a lot of my teenage years just staying home and playing video games. For my past 3 years in college, I regret not joining a club and not talking to more people. I would’ve had more friends and maybe a girlfriend by (I never had a girlfriend in my life). I also regret not starting a healthy diet earlier and getting in shape. It’s September now and I have until May to get over or remove some of these regrets. Your 20s are apparently supposed to be the best years of most people’s lives. My 20s so far have just been boring. But I realized nothing will get done if I just sit down and regret and complain. I started a serious diet a few months ago and now in decent shape. I’m also socializing more and trying to talk to more people now. So far it’s going ok even though it hasn’t been that long yet. But it’s better late than never.
@washyourhands

Covid didn't help y'all, either. Thankfully, being in your 20s doesn't end when you graduate. Wherever you go next, try and be proactive on those friendships and experiences. Invite people out, get contact info early, ask questions, and challenge yourself to speak to a wide variety of people. You can meet some wonderful people and love the time spent out of your home, studies, and work time. 3rd spaces are great, too, even if they're a bit harder to find. That could be something like gyms, social groups, interest clubs, art studios, group classes, or whatever interests you. Don't show up expecting to be a part of everyone's lives immediately and especially not expecting to find a partner. Take the time to learn and love the space, get to know the people, and then put yourself out there, too. Good luck out there, mate. - someone a few years from where you are

Actually asked this question to my grandmothers aunt when she was still alive. She said she regrets not spending more time enjoying the beautifull earth for someone who lived 112 years and only the last 7 of those were spent in elderly care. But she never left Europe, I feel that. It's not that she didn't do nothing. She did a ton, from being a great grandaunt for my father, to staying healthy and active, advocating against climate change and joining the resistance during WW2. She had a busy life, but never managed to make it further from home than Germany, England and France.

If your still in your 20s then it is definitley not to late to study what you want. Many people don't finish studying until they are nearing their 30s. Some even later than thatm

Very powerful video! When you are young, you arent aware of the world , as you grow you begin to observe everything around you, thats when worrying takes place and when you reach a certain old age, you start to realize that you cant fix your mistakes because its in the past, so you go on with te experience.

yeah, so far no regrets, 22. I live by the quote: "If you begin to regret, you'll dull your future decision and let others make your choices for you. All that's left for you then is to die. Nobody can foretell the outcome. Each decision you make holds meaning only by affecting your next decision."

Most people have no regrets because in reality the majority that had them have probably died from grief. So it's better to let go of any regrets while you still can

I feel like the videos been getting tighter, the editing is much stronger and the themes of the video is far more consistent. I think you should probably better manage your music to make it not so stock and energic. I think the emotional scenes could be stronger nearing the end if the music didn't come off so cheesy but the sctucture of the video being so fun to goofy, to fairly sad with a low, to uplifting at the end with the process as you rapid fire was great. I think it was a really strong editing choice with the no regrets always being in every age group, and within the video itself you see that response grow more and more to sink the final part of the video hook line and sinker!

My biggest regret is being too critical of myself. I used to fear failing and used to think everyone around me are experts. As I grew older, I realized everyone makes mistakes and many folks bs their way through things. I just want to give a hug to my younger self and say "Relax, life is all about hits and misses. You learn from the misses and confidence from the hits and move on".
