My podcast (Dualistic Unity) can be watched on this account, or wherever you listen to podcasts! I recommend starting with S.1 Ep.1 titled "Scratching the Surface" and going from there...
Links to episode 1 on all platforms: dualisticunity...
And now a little background on this video:
This is my full experience taking 60mg of THC (6 x 10mg THC edibles) and running over 13 miles around New York City! This was my 6th "gummy run" video, but first on KZbin. You can find episodes 1 - 5 on my tiktok in the "Runs" playlist on my account @notandrewmurnane (linked here: www.tiktok.com...) or just scroll through my instagram, which is also @notandrewmurnane.
I started doing the gummy runs because I decided to run the NYC Marathon this year (which is tomorrow 11/5/23 and I hope to see you there!), had to raise $3,500 for the team I was on, and figured they would be a fun way to incorporate running into my content/help me raise the money. I had heard about the benefits of utilizing cannabis for workouts, but had a friend (Timm Chiusano) tell me about incorporating them into runs both to help make the experience a little more intense in certain ways, but very fun in others. For each episode I decided to take the dose of the episode number and I've honestly learned a lot about myself and how much I can actually handle through the episodes.
As you probably noticed in this video, some experiences aren't necessarily super comfortable... but that doesn't mean they're bad! I used to completely avoid any amount on edibles because of a few really tough edible experiences when I was younger. I went through the same sort of feelings back then I was just way quicker to resist and fight them as opposed to let go of my opinion of how I thought I should be feeling and just accept what I was feeling.
All that said, these episodes were also a sort of experiment and a way for me to figure out the best dose for runs to actually enhance the experience rather than make it more difficult. I would say my sweet spot for runs is 5 - 15mg of THC and if you can find one with some CBD and CBG, even better! I can only speak from my experience, but 5 - 15mg helps make the run more fun (especially with music) and your body feel a bit better (sometimes almost feels like you're floating as opposed to pounding the ground). This is def not advice, but if you would like to try it I would say a low dose like 3 - 5mg is great for just about anyone. Once you get above 20mg it can start getting far more mentally intense (again, just in my experience, and I'm certainly no doctor).
Hope you enjoyed and feel free to subscribe so you don't miss future podcast episodes and videos like this!

I actually know people who get high frequently (like every day), when stopping, that have gotten panic attacks. I'm talking getting high for years. For me, smoking weed has been associated with pushing your emotions away and feeling relaxed instead of getting closer or amplifying your emotions. It might be the difference between brown and green weed though? But this avoidance of feelings is the same with Ketamine, people say that it can help you get closer to your emotions, but in reality it is a tranquilizer. It dulls your feelings enough so that you can (finally?) relax. In the end if you relaxed without ketamine you'd "get more out of it" in my opinion, but it would be harder. But the risk of panic attacks, pushing emotions away, and having a mental breakdown has me avoiding weed.
@Oblisk
@Oblisk 26 күн бұрын
@@canttalkanymore I think that’s where you have to differentiate the use of weed. Some people like myself are occasional users and only do it from time to time to have fun in social settings. Then there’s the other side of people who use it as a cope mechanism, whether they realize it or not. If you were able to deal with your stress without drugs, then you wouldn’t need weed on a daily basis just to “function.” That’s why people who end up doing weed every day experience that sense of overwhelming anxiety after a certain point. It no longer serves its purpose of being a crutch to “relax” when you consciously can’t. And for an amateur user like myself, I have low tolerance and don’t depend on it, so I feel more of the effects and tune in to how my body responds to it rather than doing it to just to do it.

I’ve often wondered where the paranoia comes from. Is it deep seeded insecurities, or the long-standing social stigma of being recognized as somebody who is stoned and possibly a stoner. Quite a bit older now I haven’t smoked in years, but wondered if it would still be the same now as it was in my younger years before it became legal in so many places.

I regularly eat edibles before my runs. Watching you prepare while high was extremely relatable! Drink, stretch, poop, warm up, forget if you brought your keys with you. Also the "starting to feel loose. Gotta maintain tension" is so real. When high, sometimes I lost all tension while running, and form must be consciously corrected. I love this so much, keep it up!

Mushrooms you can flow down the river on a nice inflatable raft and enjoy the sights and feelings of the journey, and you gently arrive at your destination. The journey can be wild but you’re gonna be alright. Weed edibles is like putting on a weighted vest and flowing down the river but you gotta tread water instead of having a raft. The river is also a boxing ring and Mike Tyson is on the other side of it, but the bell hasn’t rung yet. But it could. Will it? I don’t know but by the time it’s done you’re kinda relieved it’s over despite the… ordeal. But yeah gummies are a trip.

I love your ability to recognize your paranoia and not spiral into it. I have a really hard time not spiraling into psychosis from paranoia when I get super stoned. I over think myself and life and existence and can’t pull myself out of it enough to relax and enjoy the high. This was surprisingly very helpful with some meaningful wisdom which I was not expecting lol.

this is really refreshing. it’s comforting to know that someone else relates to the paranoia and insecurity that comes with it (especially if i’m in public, sweating bullets thinking everyone knows or the cops are going to get me). i’m working on acknowledging those thoughts, and letting them pass through me. cbt/dbt skills have actually been really helpful in keeping me calm while high

I love that your high thoughts are exactly what I think about when I’m in the gym or alone in my room. Being high is a super power of relaxation, and meditative review. It’s truly an experience and 60 mg is a fuck ton. I’ve only ever taken 30 mg maybe 40 mg at one time and I’m a stoner. My goodness!

This video kinda came at the perfect time for me. Prior to me smoking weed, I used to run pretty consistently every day and I relate to alot of the feelings of paranoia, and how you describe them when you are high. The mental affirmations are really helpful and I think I could maybe give running a shot again.

Thinking about deep insecurities and past memories is SO real for me. I had to stop smoking because every time I would, it was like my mind would time travel to every bad memory, every insecurity, every reason I was the way I was. It was like an intense therapy session every time 🤣 it was both eye opening and life crushing at the same time. I decided my mind needed a break from that rollercoaster lol!

Same, the last couple of times I've tried it I've had much better experiences, but I had to stop doing it consistently because I would absolutely hate myself, who I was, and where I was in life. But it can also have the opposite effect which is weird lol.
