he said he smoked half a joint, thats not a whole lot of THC plus the high probably wore off by then mostly. video title still says "400mg edible". also speaking from experience, smoking a little while before taking edibles seems to actually make the high more tolerable and less intense. now, doing it right before/after or while edibles are hitting, that's a different story. i mean he was fucked either way, even if he didnt smoke before (who knows, maybe he could have been less fucked if he hadn't smoked before, everybody is different) but usually when i take edibles while completely sober, they hit much harder, theyre much more intense because theres no tolerance built up in the short term. even if i smoke and then wait several hours or even 30 min to an hour before taking an edible, i more often find myself more disappointed by the edibles not being strong enough. basically smoking before can kind of take away from the fullness of the edible experience

The thing about greening out is that the experience is rare for stoners because of how high our tolerances are, plus most stoners haven't eaten that much THC at once. Even with a higher tolerance, 400 is an insane amount for one dose. Above all, the best you can do is have a snack, drink water, and find a relaxing activity.

I know this is 3+ years old, but that friend group was the worst at managing Ted's symptoms If you notice your friend has taken WAAAY to much THC, calm them down, make them comfy, and make sure they're alright. Cause, I've taken too much edibles before and it was the WORST panic attack of my life and I was by myself cause my roommates were asleep. The times I’ve taken more than 20mg, I described myself as ‘living in a noneuclidean world,’ and ‘existing as the subject of a bill wurtz video.’ I couldn’t differentiate reality from dream and imagination. I read a story recently online about a guy who made edibles for his friends, but accidentally put 1g of what he was using in each “firecracker” as he called them. Not 1 mg. 1 *G*. One of his atheist friends started to pray to god, and the storyteller physically couldn’t move off of a couch while watching what was on TV. Then he slept for 15 hours and was fine.

Dawg the people he was high with seem like they're kinda assholes imo- or just don't know how to be with someone who is in danger of/actually is greening out. When I greened out for the first time (not saying that it was Ted's first time necessarily just stating my experience) I was very lucky because I was with one of my best friends in the whole world and he was super sweet and got me through it with incredible patience. Greening out or taking too many edibles/smoking too much weed is incredibly terrifying, so being with the right people is very crucial to doing weed or any drug, and it seems like Ted got unlucky imo.

You have got to trust the people you take any mind altering substances with whether that's alcohol or weed, because if you end up to far gone they need to know how to keep you physically safe as well as how to at least help stop you from feeling completely awful. Or you might end up like a guy my friend met he'd been doing some weed with some 'friends' the pen they were using evidently was awful and should be burnt to ashes because the poor guy had so much THC he greened out for days and he greened out HARD his 'friends' buggered off at some point and didn't tell anyone what happened poor guy ended up in the drunk tank in jail and when he didn't appear to have sobered up the next day he actually got sent to the psych ward where my friend met him he spent a couple of days just completely out of it and having a terrible time. Not a normal response even to a shit ton of weed but it's a possibility and you never know how your body will react unless you get to that level of intoxicated so you need to be able to trust the people around you to look out for your well-being
