Somewhat true...however we are not given the truth . Who knew that KZbin docs would be the key to the truth and s healthy woe! I am age 65 and almost a year and half ago, reversed t2d, lost 78 lbs and labs excellent for first time in my life! The Am. For true responsibility we need true autonomy. We come into the world within nature but we grew up there in an artificial cage created by a handful of individuals who have hijacked the laws of nature. A panoply of problems ensued, in order to come up with an artificial solution to the unnatural problem they created. So I believe that yes ultimately we must take back our responsibility for our health, but how much of our suffering is caused by this masquerade of generation after generation conditioning? Ps , sorry I use google translate from french.

@@richardcardinale7152 Yes, I wholeheartedly agree. No need for apology. Your message came through clear. We indeed need true autonomy. We need true autonomy informed by truthful accurate factual information on the background and history on exactly what it is to be human (from a metabolic perspective). Humans unknowingly made a "Faustian Bargain" with carbohydrates within the past 6,000 to 12,000 years as we transitioned from being primarily carnivores to omnivores to what it has become today. Today, large segments of our modern society are unknowingly living out their lives in a "gilded cage" of ignorance not ever knowing or experiencing the freedom and truth of what it is to be metabolically human. Humans do have an innate limited tolerance for carbohydrates, but that is not to say that chronic carbohydrate consumption is in any way metabolically good or healthy for us over the long term. The best that can be said about carbohydrates is that they can prevent us from starving to death when meat is in critically short supply. Large segments of our modern society have not only impinged upon, but wholly blown past and depleted our innate metabolic tolerance for carbohydrates. One can readily acknowledge that carbohydrates have enabled humans to socially and technologically change from primitive nomadic hunter gatherers into our modern society. Carbohydrates allowed for the establishment and development of permanent settlements, towns, cities, culture, free time, regular group conversation, intellectual collaboration, development of ideas, experimentation, inventions, technology, and manufacturing. Stored carbohydrates allowed for humans to remain safely in one place without starving to death during times of seasonal and/or unusual drought and famine affecting the availability of local game. Without carbohydrates, agriculture, and the associated transportation and storage of grains and vegetables we would still be living as primitive nomadic hunter gathers depending on the pursuit of fresh game for our daily sustenance. Depending on ones perspective, one can either thank or curse carbohydrates for the sociological and technological changes that have occurred over the past 6,000 or so years. Despite the rapid sociological and technological changes that have occurred over the past 6,000 or so years, humans remain immutable carnivores that have zero adaptive capacity to change the innate physiological and metabolic nature of their carnivore digestive tract that evolved over the preceding 2 to 4 million years of the human lineage. A dissection and examination of the digestive tract of a human that lived 5,000 years ago is physiologically indistinguishable from that of a modern human. Nothing has changed. From a metabolic and physiological perspective we are living at odds with our innate and immutable carnivore nature and thus in a state of chronic debilitating metabolic distress caused by daily consumption of the standard western diet. Metabolically, carbohydrates consumption should be the rare life saving emergency exception rather than the rule. I don't completely agree the problem is caused by a handful of individuals. In my opinion, the problem was originally rooted in scientific ignorance, business, and economics motivated by profit. With respect to the USA, it is now sustained by an amalgam of politically active vigilant transnational businesses and industries (primarily agriculture, food manufacturing, restaurant, medicine, health insurance, pharma, and the various coordinating trade organizations and lobbyists they financially support and control) who currently profit from the status quo and who are aligned and actively work to cooperatively sabotage and resist any change to the status quo for wholly self-serving financial reasons. They will never be caught off guard or asleep at the switch when it comes to the bottom line. They are always playing political chess thinking many moves into the future. Unfortunately, for the time being I expect no meaningful changes to public policy or government funded scientific research with respect to the health benefits of a low carb or carnivore diet. Business, industry, and trade organization lobbying has those avenues pretty well locked down and under control to preclude any government led changes to the status quo. Their are no elected or appointed government officials who will challenge the lobbying power of these politically coordinating businesses and industries. Those who would dare to do so will be quickly dispatched from their positions.

@@CarnivorousMe1 Great for you! Lots of us have discovered this. Apparently, the entire whole-grains and fruit low meat, low fat eating plan was pushed by a doctor who was taking money from the sugar industry to make fats the enemy and make fat the "cause" of heart disease rather than carbohydrates and the inflammation they cause in your body. The rest of the medical profession drank the cool-aid and went back for more. Now that the medical profession has backed this obviously wrong food pyramid they refuse to change back because they wear dogma coats and eat dogma for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have a doctor friend who directs you to the information on this diet but can not recommend it or personally give you information because the medical association would take his medical license for going against dogma. You can add low carbohydrate veg and fruits in low amounts (i.e. a couple of strawberries or some bell pepper). Just remember, if it is made from grain or has sugar in it -- don't eat it. This is the REAL reason why baby boomers and the greatest generation were not as obese as us, they didn't eat as much carbohydrates (check a 1940s cook book)

Yes. I'm not an addictive personality, and most things tell when you've had enough. I can moderate alcohol and other drugs based on how I feel. I couldn't ever really do that with carbs, there was enough delay to allow the binge, and not enough down side 4 hours later to stop you doing it again. Have been Carnivore since 2018. Too many cheat days (ice-cream...it's basically beef isn't it!) means I have wavered and struggled, but I lost 30 lbs and gained health and life benefits. Currently I've been very good for 3 months and my scales just dipped into the 192 range which I've not been since maybe 2008. I actually want to find out what it feels like to be fit this time, be the best me I can be at 50.

So true, the original American pyramid suggest 6-11 servings of bread, cereal, rice and pasta per day. Which is, well, a hell of a lot if you actually think about it. According to Luise Light, one of the people who worked for the USDA during the time the pyramid was being developed, this was due to interference from food industry giants as well. How does she know this? Well, she was the leader of a group of top nutritionists who developed the original food pyramid for the United States before it got “sold to the highest bidder” as she put it. So yeah... we really can't trust what has been told to us for years and years.

It’s not that spinach and almonds are unhealthy, but large amounts of spinach and almonds are very unhealthy. Don’t eat 5 cups of spinach a day with a cup of almonds a day. I have 5 cups of spinach within a week and one cup of almonds within a week. That’s the issue with people who might’ve been binge eating cake switching to binge eating healthy foods, that’s not healthy either. It’s a chemical overload on your system that your system isn’t able to balance and process without side effects. However, a mix of greens, even at 5 cups a day is typically fine, but sometimes have soup or grilled veggies, 1 cups of mostly water almond milk is way easier on you than one whole cup of almonds every day to make a giant keto mug cake out of. See?
@SRose-vp6ew
@SRose-vp6ew Жыл бұрын
What I do to avoid issues from oxalates- don’t binge on high oxalate foods such as soda, soy, almonds, chocolate, or spinach. When you have a salad make it mixed power greens and add a dressing of vinegar, cold pressed olive oil, and lemon juice, drink several cups of lemon water per day(this breaks down any potential kidney stones so you don’t have them pass), stay hydrated, take Cal Meg D at “night,” and really start your day with that lemon water or ACV and lemon water.

Gout, ugh gout. I've taken more allopurinol and Prednisone than you can shake a stick out. The inflammations don't hurt as bad as they used to, but I suspect that's the uric acid breaking down joints. You probably know all the tricks. Red meat, shellfish, booze. Which sucks, cause when I got to the local french place, I Always order half a dozen half shell, foie gras, steak, and a pint of the bitterest craft beer I can find. And finish it up with a dram of highlands finest :) Guess who can do that maybe once a year these days. But if you want to shake things up, she is absolutely right. And personally I don't think of it as giving something up (I'm more fresh veg and small portions of meat, but that's what works for me) as it is gaining something, like walking five miles. Good luck to ya. I have a feeling a lot are rooting for you.

Before I began this new way of eating, I went through all the pasta, rice, potatoes, processed foods, etc., etc. when they no longer were any such items left in my house, I decided I will not even purchase more. Nothing like that is coming in my home. Surprisingly, I’m very well satiated. I do not even desire breakfast anymore! Can’t believe that. And since I eat plenty of meat around 1 pm and then again around 5:30 or 6:00 pm, I’m fine. Frankly, I still (after more than a month) can’t believe this is working. And prior to this, I was vegetarian for years, then vegan, then not, but still enjoyed most meals per week either vegetarian or vegan. But I was trapped, imprisoned actually, by the large portions of carbs and sweets at nearly every meal. It was literally Killing me. Now I’m on the treadmill regularly, nearly everyday at a very brisk fast walk for between 30 and 60 minutes!!!! Incredible.

Now, I don’t have this problem at all. I can go anywhere without worrying that I’m going to leak through my clothes. I’m not even wearing any pads anymore, not even a pantiliner! TO BE ABLE TO MODERATE, MEANS TO MASTER SELF CONTROL, SELF CONTROL IS MAKING GQQD CHOICES, THE GAME PLAN START LONG BEFORE THE MEAL. IF YOU GET OUT OF 8 WEEKS OF AA TREAMENT, AND MOVE INTO A NEW APT ABOVE A BAR .... YOU SOON HEAR THE MUSIC, LAUGHTER. YES, THAT APT WAS CLOSER TO YOUR NEW JOB, AND MUCH CHEAPER. BUT, THE CHOICE WILL LEAD TO LOSS OF SELF CONTROL. IT'S WOULD BE BETTER TO LIVE 10 MILE AWAY FROM YOUR JOB, AND PAY $100 A MONTH MORE RENT, THEN TO BE AN ALCOHOLIC AND MOVE INTO AN APARTMENT ABOVE A BAR. SAME WITH FQQD, THE CARBS TRIGGER AN INTERNAL WAR WITHIN YOU, CRAVINGS DEMONS ARE RELEASED. IT IS BETTER TO DECIDE TO BE CARNIVORE, MEAT ONLY, TO LIMIT [ MODERATE, MODERATION ] YOUR CHOICE, AND STICK WITH THAT GAME PLAN ( STRATEGY ) - IT'S A GAME PLAN. STICK TO THE PLAN ! "THE MAIN THING, IS TO KEEP, THE MAIN THING; THE MAIN THING!" THE CHOICE TO MODERATE WITH MEAT OR CARNIVORE IS THE GAME CHANGER.

Let me motivate you as well: My wife, 38yo, had about your former weight, also binged on sugar, mostly because her mother told her "vegan" is great, so she tried, but failed, also went vegan with our kids, who stopped growing several years because of that. My wife got Type-2 diabetes and Fibromyalgia for the last 3 years. I had switched to a paleo direction years ago, so I was doing fine, but my wife suffered horribly. She didn't want to go on meat, because of her mothers fanatism.. She died 2 months ago of end-stage cancer, age 38. She had ignored diabetes and the damage probably contributed to cancer.. Seeing you, is like looking back in time, how my wife could still be alive today, if she had done what you did. She also had to use a cain because she couldn't walk any other way. She suffered so much. I'm so happy for you, that you turned this around. Please stay strong !! I wish you all the best for your next steps ! I hope some "new-age vegans" read this, maybe it can save someone. BTW, after just a few months of our kids eating meat again, they started to grow like crazy. I'm incredibly angry at this vegan "movement" today. I was vegan 20 years ago, for 2 years, and yes, if you only do veggies and fruit, you can detox a bit from an unhealthy diet to a degree, but you shouldn't live of smoothies and every piece of "green" out there. So much of that brings inflammation, because it's not made for humans. My wifes mother told our kids after my wifes death, "if you eat chicken, it will make you sick". I'm a thread away from throwing her out of ours lives. F... lunatics.. Sorry for the rant, but I lost the love of my life and my best friend to this. May it help someone, hopefully.

Im extremely sorry to hear that. Im sure that was traumatic, however, i have an extremely hard time believing that reason. The science and evidence just doesnt show a whole food plant based diet doing that do people, in fact the opposite. As whole plant foods dont cause diabetes and cancer. It simply doesnt happen. Every study shows whole plant foods to be beneficial. It sounds like youre a bit mislead about plant foods. It doesnt mean plant foods will make you invincible, but theyre very healthy

So, I hate to bring science into this discussion, but your weight loss isn't fromyour carnivore diet.. it is from eating fewer calories. Calories in/out isn't a myth, it's a reality. You can get the same results by eating a balanced diet with the same calories. This is just another fad diet that 99% of people are NOT going to be able to do long term.

At the end of January 2023, I was in a situation much like the one where you started. I’ll try to be brief! I turned 74 years old on January 30th of this year, weighed 308 pounds, and felt like I was dying. Could walk only a few steps, had frequent chest pain and just felt like giving up. I happened upon a KZbin video about someone on a Carnivore diet-I don’t even remember who it was and I wasn’t certain it made sense. At that point I too, over many years, had tried all kinds of different diets which I always failed at within 6 weeks or less. Falling off the wagon with a bingeing episode was always the culprit because, every so often, I just couldn’t make myself stop eating. When I had an episode I felt like a failure and thought I’m just destined to always be fat. Anyway, when I watched that KZbin video on the Carnivore diet, I thought “well that will be simple-just eat meat.” I started it on February 1st and, although it was doable, I had some rough moments for the first 2-3 weeks. I don’t think it was craving stuff as much as it was withdrawing from sugar and carbs. After that period, it got better and easier-not always a party but reasonable. Little by little I started feeling better. The chest pain stopped, as did a constant irregular heart beat. My average resting heart rate at night went from 93 to 62 according to my Apple Watch. My glucose level came down from 160 plus to an average of 88 by the middle of March 2023-I had not expected that much of a drop. If I’m not careful, it drops into the low 70’s. As of this morning my weight is at 252. Down from 308. In any case, I am doing better than I ever would have dreamed for someone my age. Life isn’t perfect as I still have considerable knee pain if I walk very far and my vision has taken a beating from years of diabetes. That said, I’m able to stay on this Carnivore diet without feeling like I’m being deprived of what tastes good to me. I eat steak, chicken, fish, eggs, butter, and cheese. (Almost forgot: 2 cups of coffee with a little half & half every morning). My goal is to get my weight down to 200 lbs. That’s my honest story. I appreciate your video as I can identify with it and confirm what you say. Thank you. Steve

First of all, you’re amazing! You’ve encouraged me to continue Carnivore. Hubby and I are “newbies” to Carnivore, however, not new to this “neighborhood” of diets as we’ve done Keto in the past. And like you said, what every other diet misses the mark on is expecting us to moderate our intake while not addressing our triggers! Carnivore is the most amazing thing I’ve come across in my life. I don’t snack anymore because I actually forget about food!!! WTH that would’ve NEVER happened before. I drink water and I like it! I’m full but not bloated! This is the miracle we’ve been looking for because we’ve always had stamina but stamina only takes you so far without the right tools. Carnivore is the exact right tool for me and I don’t ever see stopping. Thank you for you candidness and congratulations on your success!! Looking forward to watching more of your videos!

My liver enzymes haven’t been normal for years. I look good and feel good. I was pre diabetic now I’m back to healthy state. I also went from waist size 34-36 to 32. This woman is telling the truth.

@doves9204, There are 3 types of foods: Protein like eggs, meats, cheese, Fat, like butter, etc. and carbohydrates like breads, corn, all grains, beans, starchy vegi like potatoes, etc. Your body can and will use glucose, but it will be forced to use ketones, which is a breakdown of fat cells in the absence of glucose in blood! when you eat anything that contains carbs or sugar, including fruits, milk, carbs such as bread, corn, beans, barley or even any starchy or sweet vegi or potatoes, etc, they "all have carbs" and turn to glucose in blood causing pancreas to secrete insulin. This hormone, insulin, causes body to store fat! The beginning of bad news! you got to stop all carbs as much as possible to prevent/reduce the secretion of Insulin! when you don't eat those starchy or carb food your body, eventually after the depletion of glycogen, stored glucose, will be forced to break down your own body fat and breaks it down to ketones, which will be used by all your cells. If you continue this type of eating: non-starchy vegi, proteins like meats eggs, cheese, and yes fats like butter, etc. you start getting healthier and better, the lady is telling you the truth! I have been doing it too and have lost about 40 pounds in 2.5 months, and my blood sugar etc. all normal! I also add that I do not eat for 16 hours in between meals, and no it is not hard because when your body is using ketones you won't be hungry, and you get used to it! Do not listen to what you hear on the media, etc! Just do it and, good Lord's willing, you will be healthy again! There is just too much loss of money for the big corp, food industry, medical, ... to tell you the truth! They need and want customers to make their money! The good Lord has already given wisdom and the capacity to our bodies to heal itself for free! Just eat right and be patient and in a few months, you will be fine again! The lady is telling the truth! Thank you for coming out and telling the truth to people! God bless you!

@@doves9204I also am on a modified version of the diet, but not to lose weight, but to heal my gut. My daughter-in-law came up with a very simple dish that we all call Simple Beef. It is just hamburger cooked in a pot and then a can or two ( or better yet, fresh frozen green beans) added, and then seasoned. It satisfies your appetite and you can pull the left overs ( always keep some in your frig) out anytime you have a craving, and have a bowl. So simple and satisfying. I don't think the small amout of carbs in the green beans will hurt, and you should lose.your cravings for sweets. Try it. Ultra easy to make and it works wonders. Good luck. We season with lots of Season-It-All, or similar, onion salt, and garlic powder or salt.

@@doves9204 No carbs whatsoever even from fruits (sugar) for at least two weeks until your full blown ketosis. The first 3 weeks I lost 18 pounds then I started counting carbs no more than 30-40 g per day. When I finally lost 40 pounds and all my blood work was totally normal I started taking in a few more carbs but would back off when I would start getting out of ketosis. At this point keeping balance is what I try to do right on the edge of ketosis. When your in ketosis your in fat burning mode and your body tends to be homeostasis or rather body functioning like when you were young. The only drawback need to take pre and probiotics and digestive enzymes because pooping becomes a little difficult. Other than that feel great all day good sleep. Also to address the sugar cravings I make my own low calorie zero sugar desserts. I make brownies, chocolate bars, cup cakes, pancakes etc. Not quite like the real thing but pretty close and it’s satisfying. Next recipe I’m going to attempt is Sugar free low fat NY style cheese cake. Good luck

So excited for you!! Thank you for your wonderful share❤ I too have had an eating disorder. I was an anorectic subtype B/P. I started my anorexia at age 18. I did not purge until I was 25. Once I started purging it was a crazy free for all to deal with my emotions this way for the next 35 years. I was in and out of treatment when I starved myself because I was purging everything. I too tried every healthy way of eating advertised. I still had physical issues. I developed a colitis, signs of Type 2 Diabetes my glucose would spike with food with sugars I didn’t realize was in the food I ate. This was followed by a surge of insulin and my blood sugar would drop to the 40’s. This has continued for the next 5 years. I finally realized with the help of KZbin videos such as yours and similar podcasts I was eating wrong. It was because everyone I was listening to only taught the food groups. My body couldn’t tolerate eating this way. I learned from these podcasts. I eat meat now where I was once told it was unhealthy. I make sure it is grass fed, no antibiotics and free roaming range so they can eat natural grass freely. I will continue to also eat fish and chicken of high quality, eggs and butter that also come from these healthy animals. Within weeks my glucose spikes are gone and my blood pressure is in normal range. I feel calm and more at ease. Thank you for sharing your truth to help others find their way through this crazy world of food and health.
